The pace of the book is just about right, It breaks down your game into logical easy to follow steps. Some great analogies of great Pro's and how they approach the game, and how the Doc has helped them to make the breakthrough to becoming a Major Winner.
If it works for the Pro's, it has to be of help to an amateur player.
He brings the book to life in my opinion, his voice and the pace of the book is first rate.
Chapters 2 and 13 by far the most moving of all chapters for me
If you are serious about improving your golf. You have to listen/read this book. I am seeing results already by staying in the moment, and not getting in my own way.
I'm a new golfer and I thoroughly enjoyed how Bob presented this book. The stories were quite encouraging and made me want to go out and practise.

"Not my favorite"

I am not a fan of his style. In other words, I am not buying what he is selling.
Disappointment and anger.
To be honest, I only made it through less than 1/4 of this book. He started to lose me when he used for examples, quotes by Madonna, George Lopez and Beyoncé. Seriously. If that is who or what he considers quality individuals to demonstrate an example, then he has nothing to offer me. I finally quit when he went on to defend Bob Knight. Perhaps these folks will be positive influences for you, but I had no interest in hearing more.
"Good for first time readers"
If this is your first Bob Rotella book I think you will find it informative, motivational and an enjoyable read. I have read 2 or 3 of his previous books and found this one to have the exact same information only with some updated examples and a new title.
If you've read one you have read them all, but for a first timer wanting to improve your mental golf game, I would recommend it.

Rotella is always the best "checkup from the neck up" for any golfer. The lessons of "Not A Game of Perfect" with updated spin and new phraseology. Lose some of the magic after a few years, this brings it back.
Dr. Bob not only gets to the heart of the matter of golf, but of modern life itself. The importance of self image relates to all people. You become that which you imagine you are. Well done.
"The book helped my game"
The day after listening to this book I won a club tournament. I followed the author's advice on putting unconsciously and just kept sinking them. I let myself feel confident and have fun and it worked! I'm amaEd but intend to stick with Rotella's philosophy

It ranks about in the middle as I purchased it for instructional purposes to improve my golf game and not so much for entertainment. With that said it was well put together and I thought Bob did a good job with narrating it.
For me it's more like what I found interesting about the book and its contents is that it actually works IF you can do it, which is not so easy. For the longest time I have fought over thinking my game and found it really hard to just relax and let it happen. The first time I tried it, after I listened to the book, I was able to shoot 2 under for the first 5 holes and then my brain kicked in again and I went back to 2 over after nine. Anyway, it is work in progress and thanks Bob for putting into words how to disengage my brain. To bad I didn't know about this 25 years ago when I was in my 30's but now I'm having fun playing around with it.
There is no favorite scene as I liked the whole book for its informational content.
No, I never listen to a book in one sitting. I don't have that long an attention span.
