Summary

In this audio-exclusive prequel - a must-hear for die-hard Zombie Fallout fans and newcomers alike - listeners are brought back to the days before outbreak; to the origins of a virus capable of raising the dead, its patient zero, and the events that set in motion the destruction of the human race.

Those who would seek a new world order have unleashed the most devastating virus onto mankind, and even they do not know the secrets hidden in their weapon. Follow along as Harry, a CDC scientist, races to figure out what exactly the virus is and how to stop it. It will be up to him and a group of marines led by Major Sanders to stop the zombie fallout before it ravages an unsuspecting world.

Not worth the free credit

Short story kinda disjointed didn't really stick with any characters long enough to make it worth the credit.

Interesting preview to the series

I’m glad I was able to read this before I started book 1
The narrator does a good job ... but reads a bit to slow for me .. and for the first time ever (214 audiobooks) I cranked the speed up to 1.2
Much better.
After just finishing listening to books 1-5 of Mountain man and looking for my next fix ... zombie fall seemed a possible next read and I think going by this prequel it’s going to be another ride along through hell
bring it on

Brilliant!

I was intrigued by this but wondered if I'd enjoy a Zombie Fallout book without Mike Talbot and family. My concerns were unfounded however, as Mark Tufo's brilliant storytelling and rounded characters pulled me in immediately. I'm hoping we'll somehow come across one or two of these characters in later ZF novels.

As ever, Sean Runnette gives an excellent performance.

Good but gory

There are a lot of explicit descriptions of what the zombies do during an attack.

But otherwise a great start to the Zombie series!

Interesting start

I had listened to book one of this series some years ago… so it was interesting listening to how it all started. It’s only sh just under 3 hours, but still entertaining.

Love this series

Starting listening again - a fantastic series the goes from strength to strength and long enough to get your human undead teeth into. Brilliant narrator.

Promising start to this 20+ book series

Fast pace short story to set up the series. Loved the comedic touches and the narration was spot on. Will listen to the sequel.

Disappointing, not worth the time listening

Fortunately this was a freebie…I didn’t enjoy it at all. I thought the story lacked substance and the narration was tedious. I wouldn’t recommend.

Simple zombie story

Gave this a go due to the whole series being aboit 100 books and wanted to get a taste of it. OK and I liked the narrative but, it felt dull at moments and no one stood out for me. I would recommend the mountain man series if you need a zombie fix.
