Even though they attend a school of gifted students in New York City, child geniuses Louise Mayer and her twin sister Jillian have always felt alone in the world, isolated by their brilliance. Shortly before their ninth birthday, they make an amazing discovery. They're not alone. Their real mother was astronaut Esme Shenske and their father was the famous inventor, Leonardo Dufae. They have an older sister, Alexander, living on the planet of Elfhome, and four siblings still in cryogenic storage at the fertility center. There's only one problem: The frozen embryos are scheduled to be destroyed within six months. The race is on to save their baby brother and sisters. As a war breaks out on Elfhome and riots start in New York City, the twins use science and magic to plow over everything standing in their way. But when they come face to face with an ancient evil force, they're soon in over their heads in danger.

"In some ways, this is one of the best in the serie"
First, it will help to know that this one takes place almost exclusively on earth, and actually begins before Tinker. If you had to read it before any of the others, you could, but why? It covers a longer timeline, and so ends just before the end of Elfhome, suggesting that the two storylines are about to merge. Oh, the possibilities.
Tanya Eby does a really great job, especially with Joy and the babies' voices. I look forward to future books in this series.
"happy and listening again!"
I love the dialogue and the feel that these girls are geniuses. and more Tengu! yay. :)
"Very well done"
I listen while commuting. This book was a problem as I had trouble stopping when each commute was finished. I have been greatly enjoying this series!

"I missed the Tinker story but this was really good"
Now I have to wait for another book and I really thought this was the end. That is my only complaint! This was a great book and a very easy read!

"Extreamly, awesomly, wonderful story!"
If it were possible I would rate "Wood Sprites" a ten. It is extreamly entertaining, well written, funny, heart warming, heart wrenching, adventure that adds delightful layers to the Elfhome saga. A must read addition to the series. I am waiting impatianly for the next release!
"The best book so far!"
Although the book is wonderful, the audio book takes it to the next level. I have listened to the book at least a dozen times since I downloaded it, and it still makes me laugh and cry every time.
All of the characters are so well written, it is hard to choose a favorite, but I have to say I do love Joy.
Tanya Eby is amazing, and she brings all of the characters to brilliant life.
I have shared this series with all of my friends, and we are all anxiously awaiting the next book.
