Publisher's Summary

An unholy predator on the prowl!

The small town of Lakeview offers little excitement for Duane, Savannah, and their friends. They're about to endure their 10-year high school reunion when their lives are shattered by the arrival of an ancient, vengeful evil.

The werewolf.

The first attack leaves seven dead and four wounded. And though the beast remains on the loose and eager to spill more blood, the sleepy town is about to face an even greater terror. Because the four victims of the werewolf's fury are changing. They're experiencing unholy desires and unimaginable cravings. They'll prey on the innocent. They'll act on their basest desires. Soon they'll plunge the entire town into a nightmare. Lakeview is about to become Wolf Land.

    Story
    "Crude"

I'm getting my Mary Whitehouse on in this review.

A werewolf causes carnage at a school reunion, fair enough; but some of the character's side stories were just plain unpleasant to listen to. I appreciate it's a horror and as such wants to shock, but these descriptions went too far as if the author revelled in the nastiness of it.

    Story
    "Absolutely Visceral"
If you could sum up Wolf Land in three words, what would they be?

    Visceral, Horrific, Gooey

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't really have a favorite character. Jonathan Janz writes compelling characters, and David Stifel has the wonderful ability to give each character a special life within the story to get you attached.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Oh hands down my favorite scene was Melody's Revenge, I cannot say anything more than that. There hasn't been a scene that I got so much satisfaction form since the very end of Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door, the only book that I will never revisit.

    Any additional comments?

Wonderful combination of characters, horrific actions and just deserts. Between the writing and the narration the 14 hours went by extremely quickly. I took longer drives and ran just a bit longer to get more of the book in. Well worth the credit or the price.

    Story
    "incredible horror novel"

this has to be the best horror novel I have listened to this year.
the tag team of the authers brilliant visual writings and the narrators amazing talent to bring the characters to life, listening to this book is like watching a movie.
while this novel is very gory, it does not mask the story or the characters. you feel for them and their loses.
I can't say enough. a must listen for werewolf and horror fans alike.
no glitter or sparkles here...just bloodshed.

    Story
    "Man........"

The narrator sounded like Col. Tigh. I was expecting at any minute to hear, "those fraking toasters." He was okay. I could have done without all the gross stuff like: stuff crawling under the skin and laying eggs, pus and blood crusted nipples, flies laying eggs on shit, and nipples scrapping against doorways. There were a lot of characters and in the beginning it was hard to keep up with them. Shortpump had too many names. He was hard to keep up with. Why couldn't Savannah talk nicer to him? She seemed mean to him, to me. Poor Melody. Barb was awesome.
