That's the problem when you let real life get in the way of a good story. You shouldn't let it happen, especially when a good story involves three witches, including a fairy godmother, and travelling to a faraway land to make sure that a servant girl doesn't marry a prince. It looks as though a happy ending may be averted before catastrophe strikes. But unfortunately, the forces of good are up against a godmother who has made Destiny an offer it can't refuse.

"[Pratchett's] comic footnotes are still glorious." (The Times)
Funny, laugh on the edge of your seat
Nanny Ogg, Tony Robinson really catching the essence of the character
His comical voice and the portayal of the characters
Yes, would definitely recommennd
"Abridged, bad sound quality"
Not a huge fan of the narration, but I could have lived with it had the sound quality been better. At times, Robinson's voice is so quiet that I would turn up the volume to make out words, then be deafened a moment later when a different character spoke.
When I started listening to Discworld books, I didn't know the narrators so I bought based on where I was in the se Either when I purchased this it didn't say it was abridged or it still doesn't say that. But it is abridged, big time. It is so abridged that large sections of the plot make no sense at all.
Save your money or credit and buy the OTHER version of this title, narrated by Nigel Planer. You'll get the whole story and a much better listening experience.
"Great story, terrible sound editing"
The performance switched abruptly between practically whispered exposition and shouted dialogue from the witches. While Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg are indeed assertive women, the result of this sudden, and repeated, volume change is jarring. Really difficult to listen to. Of smaller note, the narrator pronounced practically every name differently than how at least three other narrators have pronounced them. Not the worst of crimes but certainly serves to remove one from the story
"Short and sweet"
One of Terry Pratchett's shorter stories, he still has done a masterful job. Tony Robinson is a great voice actor, but he gets too quiet during some of the narrative. All in all, though, this is another great story. Just do not try to listen to it in a busy and/or loud location!
"Why can't Robinson read all the books?"
The unabridged is better story-wise, but if you've once read it, this is very entertaining. Laughed out loud frequently.
"Vintage Terry Pratchett!"
Lots of unexpectedly plot references to current society. Made a long drive go by in a flash!
