"Excellent narration and a gripping story!"
Near the top most definitely, although Poe will always hold a special place for me.
Just as thrilling and evocative as ever; W.B. Ward creates a rich and vivid world in all of his performances.
W.B. Ward's narration of War of the Worlds has brought this classic back to life.
"Classic Spine Tingler"
Yes. Listening to the story being played out audibly was so much more interesting.
Feeling as if you were right there while the Martians were wreaking havoc while the townspeople were fleeing for their lives.
Yes. W.B.Ward consistently gives excellent performances. The way he makes the books come alive makes listening to them a pleasure.
It was definitely a page turner. It kept me wanting to hear what happens next.
W.B.Wards narration puts you right in the middle of all the suspense and the characters reactions to the invasion of the Martians. He truly takes you through a trip of the theater of the mind.
Gripping and exciting from start to finish. This story is definitely a go-to on long drives or quiet nights when you want to stay sharp and on the edge of your seat. Portions of it keep you riveted and entranced as if you were a part of the story itself. The narrator keeps you engaged and depicts it in such a way that you can see the story unfold and feel the adrenaline of the characters...Bravo!!!
"Audio is Best"
Classics are always time well spent in one sense of the word. Writing styles have changed so much over the years, but it behooves us to learn from our predecessors.
I have not listened to any other H.G. Wells books, but W.B. Ward is one of my favorite producers.
W.B. Ward has a "real" voice. He does not have to fake his reading voice. Years of professional experience is on his side. Easy to listen to!
I think so, yes.
W.B. Ward is worthy of commendation for his accomplishments. He loves literature and it is evident in the spirit of his voice as he reads. Kudos!
