    Story
    "A "clean" paranormal YA"

There were many plot points that weren't easily followed or that left me confused for a time. I'd like to say that it's because this is book 4 in a series and simply not a stand-alone book. I think that is true in most of the places I had problems.

This is definitely a "clean" YA book. By that I mean that a young teenage girl ends up living alone in the forest with a boy who becomes her "boyfriend". Yet there is little touching or kissing and absolutely no mention of any other bodily functions. In spite of being werewolves and the girl not even being able to control her phasing, they somehow retain their sense of modesty and are able to hide from each other while shifting and devise ways to carry clothes with them almost all the time. If you are concerned about your child's reading material, then this is a great book for them, and a refreshing change from most of the other YA books in this genre. However, as an adult, it stretched my credibility.

It tries to be an inspiring story of love and hope and family and friends in the face of danger and uncertainty. And yes everything works out okay in the end. I understood the message, but sometimes felt that the shifts in mood (from danger to freedom for example) were too quick and not well explained.

Overall, I'd say it's a good paranormal book for YA readers, especially those on the younger side. But start at the first book in the series and read in order. Not recommended for adults.

The narrator was great. Her voice fit a young girl's voice perfectly, yet she still managed to do characterization of the other characters, most of whom were older males.

    Story
    "Learning You've Been Cloned!"

I may have mentioned that books #3 and #4 are my favorite stories so far. Author Cheree Alsop does a fantastic trouble job in creating this story. She has a vivid imagination and it shows in all her stories. In the story Violet, we get to know more about Kaynan's sister Colleen, who has trouble phasing because she phases so much and they tend to be violent each time. She can't be around other people just yet. When the rehabilitation center she has been staying at catches on fire she tries to help another werewolf escape, yet Rafe ends up saving her instead. This story is from Colleen's POV and we learn more about her and follow her as she learns to control her phasing and much more. Colleen is the type that will jump into the action, taking risks that she shouldn't, and will do anything she can to protect those she loves and cares for. Rafe takes her to his people and they both learn to heal through connecting with each other, understanding, and love. Rafe makes sure he tells her often that wolves mate for life. I think in the beginning Colleen doesn't really get what he means because she was made and not born into a wolf. I think by the time the story ends she knows what Rafe means when he tells her that. So many things happen in this story, there's a ton of action, secrets, danger, death, and even some clean, sweet romance. Cheree made sure she gave this story her everything. I can tell she put her heart and soul into writing this story. A must read but if you want to live inside this story then you should listen to it.

Michele Carpenter does a magnificent job with her narration of this story. I think she did a wonderful job with all the male characters accents and voices. The way she distinguished all the characters accents and voices were perfect. I must be honest when writing this so the author will know. I think Michele could've done every audiobook you have because her voice was really good for the male characters. A great narrator can do female and male voices no matter the narrators gender. I dislike a series that keeps swapping narrators because it really ruins a great series. Michele did a fantastic job and I didn't have any trouble identifying each character throughout this story even though she didn't narrate the previous books to this series. Honestly, her performance was even better than previous narrations of this series. Overall, another 5 star rating!

    Story
    "age-appropriate YA werewolf story"

Despite the romance being rather cliched (our heroine with unusual violet eyes is weak and needs reassurance/help from the brooding, handsome lone wolf who does not trust anyone but her, and they bond almost instantly), this was a decent YA werewolf book. The plotline of the government conspiracy to create a way to run humans into werewolves in laboratories, doing their experiments on helpless children is properly sinister. The werewolf pack incorporating sympathetic humans as well as sympathetic actual wolves was a nice touch and underscored the themes of loyalty and family. The book is action-packed and plot-driven, if somewhat improbable. It's age-appropriate, with several examples of healthy relationships in wolf, human, and werewolf. Our heroine is not too sassy, too emotional, too perfect, or too sexualized. She seemed like a realistic mid-teenage girl.

This book is #4 in the series, but I have not read the rest of the series and thought it stood alone just fine. I got a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
