Not since Jurassic Park has Michael Crichton given you such a magnificent adventure. Here, he combines a science of the future - the emerging field of quantum technology - with the complex realities of the medieval past. In a heart-stopping narrative, Timeline carries you into a realm of unexpected suspense and danger, overturning your most basic ideas of what is possible.

Possibly. Just to get straight the characters - plus it was fun.
Mr. Lang did a good job, perhaps a little "dry". Not as great as some narrators, but definitely not bad either.
I've watched the movie a few times which I actually thought was good. It was similar... but definitely different as well. I actually didn't realize this was an abridged version of the book so I am wondering what I may have missed out on. But all-in-all it was a fun book to listen to. I finished it in just a few days. It was fun comparing the book to the movie.
"Typical '10' from Crichton"
Would you expect anything less from the creator of Jurassic Park, Disclosure and E.R.? I was literally on the edge of my seat during the entire book. I was *wishing* that my daily commute was longer listening to this book. A couple times I just sat in the parking lot listening to Crichton's detailed and rich word selection for this action-packed thriller.
"Travel back in time !!"
This audio kept me listening, in the car, while I was cooking, walking the dog, absolutely brilliant.
First experience of arriving in the future, the stillness.
Marik, was my favorite, although loved them all.
Didn't want to take the ear plugs out till I got to the end, was sorry that it was finished.
Stephen Lang, kept the movie going in my head, great narrator.
"Exciting, refreshing novel"
Great novel, keeps you on the edge, well written, excellent narrator. I enjoy reading about quantum mechanics and it's latest advances. This book, although fiction, gives the reader a slight introduction to this exciting science. Great book, it contains every thing: romance, love, hate, patriotism, betrayal, loyalty, science, and our everlasting contribution to humanity - War!
"Favorite Crichton Book"
I read the book AND listened to it, it's that good. A dash of French history, medicine, physics, mystery, and adventure. Highly recommended.
"As always well done!"
This is a good book for anyone who loves time travel but especially you nerds that read up on your quantum mechanics. The story encompasses the multi-verse theory to play out a very epic medieval siege.
"First audio book completed."
In the beginning, need to get used to not holding a actual book. An hour into it all settle down. However would love to have actual female to read the female parts. So allow reader get into the story better.
loved the fantasy of time traveling combined with authentic ribbons of history and page turning suspense
"Technology and Ponies"
If they like time travel and medieval stuff then this book will float your 1324 battleship.
My roommate and I listened to it while on a road trip. I fell asleep somewhere during the explanation of quantum physics, so you'd have to ask him.
Anyone who spoke in medieval English.
No... BUT... if you want to get some crazy good nap time in on a boring roadtrip this is perfect (especially if the driver digs it, because that is the person who needs to be awake and all.)
I would say I slept for AT LEAST 80% of this book, but from what I heard it was pretty good.
"I love this book BUT..."
because it is abridged there is major parts of the story missing. I have read this book before and had a trip to take so I thought I would listen, well get the full version. It is better.
