A Message from The Author
Writing The Undead is a humbling experience. I am eternally grateful to the readers and listeners for the incredible support you always show.
Dan Morgan superbly narrated Parts 1 to 10, but unfortunately he was not able to continue. To my delight, the wonderfully talented Joe Jameson has now taken the series on. His range and skills are superb.
I am aware of the feedback about the voice of one of my characters, Dave. If this change has upset your listening experience then I can only apologise, but both Joe and I, and everyone at Audible, have listened to the points you made and take them very seriously. It is a wonderful thing to have such responsive fans, so willing to listen and work to make it better, plus the interactive nature of the series means you the listener can speak out and say what you like and don't like, otherwise how would we know?
We've got some cracking days ahead of us. Some real stonking rip-roaring storylines to come and both Joe and I can only hope you'll stay with us on this journey.
After the carnage of the night and dealing with an infected Lani, the team leave the fort and once more venture into rural towns to find food and buy time. As the day wears on, the tension between Howie and Marcy grows, with increasingly petty arguments that sap the morale of the others.
They find a deserted village where the infection strikes in vast numbers. With too many to fight head-on, the lads flee and take refuge in an old mansion. Meanwhile, Marcy and Howie become trapped in a house, and the scientist riding on horseback stumbles across the village.

I think the new narrator is great, really dynamic and diverse characters. The Undead series just goes from strength to strength, when will part 14 be out?!!!
Gripping, touching characters
Camaraderie between the team and the introduction of new characters there is so much more story to be told as it turns and weaves.
All the Undead books are great and strong profmances.
It took a while to get use to Joe Jameson narration especially with Paula voice, but accepted now and doesn't spoil the whole experience. Just don't be too long in releasing the next 3!
joe is a good narrator if u over look the dumbing down of dave the age of Paula n howww annoying the kid is with gregori lol.
I liked this book better than last 2.
Howie and Marcy when they are alone, Clarence looking after Reggie, and meeting one of my favourite characters for the first time
thats like asking me to pick my favourite pair of shoes, but Meredith, Howie, Blowers and Cookey are pretty near the top
Hes found his stride, it must be so hard to take over after so many previous books, and hes getting more into it with each episode.
In my personal opinion the books get better and better, (day 20 anyone? wow) so he has some excellent storylines coming up.
I love this series. There is a new narrator but after a while you'll soon get used to and love the new style. To me this feels more real then the previous audible versions
If you never read another book about the "living challenged" you MUST read the Undead series! Exceptional characters that you really care about and need to know what is going to happen to them...the speed of the story...the side plots and twists...and the natural humour that will have you laughing out loud... literally! I HAVE to know when the rest of the series is going to be completed or I may just turn into Dave and go hunting for a certain author 😉.
i have not only become fond of Joes charecters but I'm in trouble with the other half for mimicking the Boy, Gregoooryyyy.
really enjoyed the humore in this one, waiting for 14! Lol
"just finished it! I want more!!"
ok, this one is like a drug. I want more and to know who "he" is that is coming! I'm ready for the rest of the story!!
Great Job Jameson , and thank you for continuing this series sense Dan pussied out , can't wait for more!!!
still trying to get use to the new voice the way Dave Cartier sounds now is weird after so many hours of Dan Morgans way of portraying Dave's cartiter and the new way of Nick's cartiter...
Good story but .... still ruined Dave sigh.
I hope they can get Dan back. James would be ok if he done it from the beginning but the sounds are now part of the story.
"Went really fast"
I've grown used to Joe by now. Dave's voice is still off and the little boy is annoying, but I'm in the groove now and Joe is moving things along. The story thus far is exciting and has me guessing what happens next. I'm not pleased with the turn of events with "her" but I get it. So day 17 took me less than a week to finish. So, now I wait for day 18. Hint hint.
"Yeah! New characters!"
I loved the introduction of new characters in this book, draws you in to the series even more!
OMG!! You have to get this series if you LOVE ZUMBIE BOOKS. The action is through the roof.
This was one of the better books in this series. Great story, good to listen to. I was sorry when I was done with it!!! I hope he writes another SOON!!
Yes of course.
Yes it is a Awesome series.
read the next one when it comes out.
a little bit on the cliche side - I'm re-listening to the whole series Again and I'm disappointed
how quickly Howie got over Lonnie so quickly.
Plus I looked up Fort Spitbank off the coast of England and it's not a fort you can drive too
as the author makes out in the story, it's actually out in the water and you would need a boat.
"BEST SERIES EVER!"
this book as the previous ones made me laugh, feel anguish, get mad, and proud all in one book and series. if a story can mage my emotions jump around like that then all I can say is WELL DONE SIRS! narrator plays each part to perfection and well written. Definitely above your average zombie tale!
