In 299 Days: The Stronghold, the fourth book in the 299 Days series, Grant Matson begins teaming up with others who will help the community of Pierce Point become a Patriot stronghold, ready to stand against government Loyalists, the Undecideds and the Oblivious. Using the United States Constitution as a guide, they develop a sense of order and begin planning for a future that shows no sign of improving. Outside of Pierce Point, the country continues its downward spiral. The Feds are rationing food and gas and playing favorites while some states are choosing to "opt out" of the Federal Government. Scrappy street gangs have made way for sophisticated white collar gangs who, along with government officials, participate in bartering and bribery of every kind. Vigilantes are loose everywhere, and those working for what is left of the government don't know if they're with the good guys or bad guys. The Pierce Point Patriots prepare to defend their land, their families, and their beliefs, even if that means going up against those in their community who are loyal to the government and all things that lead to the Collapse of America.

A little addictive.
hard for non US listeners to understand some of the slang terminology. .
I liked it in the beginning books but now it is just going so slow, and dragging every thing out to make more books. The plot of each book is smaller with each book.
"Every female is either a chick, gal or "foxy""
Would be a reasonably acceptable book were it not for the unmitigated misogyny. The lead character is a joke. Sad.
"Way to short for the money"
Two or three of these books should be combined to make the purchase worthwhile.
"Extremely well done!"
I feel like I'm listening to my own story. Everything Grant and the community is going through with setting up a working community. It's a lot more difficult than you would think and the struggles and successes are all in the book. It is amazingly written and read by a fantastic narrator.
When the team first had to kill someone in the community. Heartbreaking.
The characters are jumping out of the book into life. Extremely well read. This Glen Tate guy is reading my mind, and this Kevin Pierce guy is speaking my mind.
America is collapsing to her knees and being weighed down by the chains of limas. One community fights back for liberty and freedom without the need for a government. One community will break the chains and set liberty free.
A lot of "prepper" fiction is, well, weird. Not 299 Days. I feel 100% comfortable suggesting this to my "normal" friends and family. The book is an eye opener to the possibilities of what can be accomplished without government and how actual freedom could look.
"One of the greatest books series every!"
Yes! It is a wonderful book full of insight and adventure! The narrator adds even more meaning to the story
The whole book was amazing
Its way to hard to pick up just one scene, it was all enthralling!
Yes! I couldnt get enough of it!
I read the entire series on Kindle, and now I'm excited that I can finally "Whispersyncing" and listen to it on the go!
First books started out fair. This one is repetitive and over detail to the point of boredom.
"Slow part of a good series."
I like the series overall vut the author keeps repeating himself over and over in this book. it was very dry. that being said i still powered through because the others before it still tell me the series is going to be great
"Good story, not great writing"
I like the series. There are lots of 'hmm I hadn't thought of that ' moments. An I will continue to listen to the series.
My only critique is that sometimes the dialogue is so weak I have to roll my eyes; other times it is downright cringe worthy.
If you can look past that at the big picture it's an interesting series.
