Publisher's Summary

A devastating plague continues to rage through the land of Muirwood, and all hope is laid at the feet of the young woman Lia. Called as a magical protector, Lia volunteers to embark on one last quest to rescue the knight-maston Colvin - her great love - and his pupil, the alleged heir to the fallen kingdom of Pry-Ree. Undaunted by injuries, Lia sets off across land and sea warning the kingdom of the great plague that is upon them. The arduous journey leads her to the doors of Dochte Abbey, where her friends are supposedly held. However, a fallen enemy lies in wait for Lia, as well as an unbearable new truth. The revelation will pit Lia's deepest desires against the fate of her enchanted world....

Fantastically epic and at all times engaging, The Scourge of Muirwood is a monumental finale to the Muirwood Trilogy.

It was unremarkable. Pleasant bedtime listening but not memorable. There were some very strange accents and not all were easy to understand.

"A fitting end to an amazing trilogy."

The story so immersive, the characters so familiar and real means you live this story from beginning to end. I miss Lia, Pasqua, Soa all of them and am a little less for their loss.

    Story
"Good series, have read all 6"
If you could sum up The Scourge of Muirwood in three words, what would they be?

    enticing, exciting, integral

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the story lines, so close to so much of our own peoples history, struggles, triumphs, and the ongoing fight between good and evil. It never comes by just getting everything handed to the people; character is never developed by living the life of Riley. The characters are well developed and are taken through a series of challenges, experiences, choices and relationships that teach them to grow up and become men and women of good character. The stories give good examples of how character is developed through the challenges and experiences we face in life. I love how the books give indications of gospel truths, principles of truth through out as the fight with good and evil wages and how truth can be twisted and used for evil. Alluding to the growth that comes by learning how to follow the spirit of God, (the medium) and how to discern the spirits that attempt to influence our lives for good and for evil. I was captured by the story lines and the characters.

Which character – as performed by Kate Rudd – was your favorite?

Loved them all, the good guys and the bad guys, great performance; I was inspired to look into some of her other works, did not care for some of the other stories but I am reading the Mermaids sister. I would look at and peruse anything Jeff has written and Kate has performed.

    Any additional comments?

I am an avid reader, of all kinds of genre, and I will say, I was grateful to read such good stories that let you know the man and woman were going to marry and be intimate, without having to read through or skip the details. I really appreciated the respect and trust the characters develop in their relationships without having to read about their genitals or the sex. I know some people like that kind of thing, and I am not a prude, but I prefer the stories without having to enter into the bed chamber. I would recommend these books to my nephews and nieces for reading as well, I believe they would enjoy them.

    "Ok conclusion to trilogy"

A bit of a disappointment after the second book. I really enjoyed the first half of this book. I found the ending a bit forced. Kat Rudd does a good job in the narration. Obviously worth the read if you have read the first two books.

    "Grand Finale!"

After just finishing the Kings Fountain series and falling in love with Jeff Wheeler's writing and characters, I bought this series and was NOT disappointed in the least! The storyline and characters were intriguing. The suspense continued to build and compelled me to listen till well past my bedtime so I could find out how it would end. I am looking forward to the next Muirwood Series, "Covenant of Muirwood".

    "Well read and thoroughly entertaining!"

I began the series while on a road trip with my adult daughter. I had not expected to like it as much as I honestly did. I sought the second book after returning from the trip and finished the series on my own. I looked forward to each listening session and didn't want to miss a single episode, as though it were my favorite show on television. I found myself transported through time and place where I could see Muir wood clearly in my minds eye at each visit. I will undoubtedly seek more books by this author!

"A compelling and exciting story across the series"

I really enjoyed the way the author incorporated religious lore we know into a new and fantastic idealogy. the crusaders and knights and medieval notions of chivalry take on a vibrant feeling when combined with a palpable magic.

    "It got better and better"

This series, unlike so many, got better with each installment. I enjoyed the characters, the plot, the ending - I even thought the narrator improved from Book 1 to Book 3. Five stars - an author and series I HIGHLY recommend.

    Story
    "A well crafted trilogy"

it does wear a bit thin on the religious side, despite my supporting the allegory in volume 1. The battle between good and evil and lost souls is saved by good narration but is somewhat overdone. at times. The ceremonial nature is a bit Mormon or Masonic, don't see those words together in a sentence but once in a millennium. I listened to them in order but was ready for the tale to end. It was well done and I do not regret the time spent but perhaps editing done a few hours or a few hundred pages would have made it more engaging.
