The Synchronicity War is over, and the insectoid beachheads in our spiral arm have been destroyed, but the aftermath of the war holds some nasty surprises for humanity and its loyal AI allies. Somebody is messing with the human time line. Is it the friendlies, the sogas, the insectoids, or a new race?
This stand-alone novel set in the Synchronicity War universe has new human and AI characters. Find out what happened to Valkyrie, Casanova, Iceman, Gunslinger, and the other Rim AIs. The Retro War spans time and space in a galactic chess game with humans and their AIs as the pawns.

It was like the story was meant to be a few books but then cut in to one, it doesn't allow you to develop any emotion for new characters. So while not a bad book it's not a great book either.
"Another great story"
I really enjoyed this book and the Synchronicity War series. Luke Daniels does another awesome job of bringing the characters to life.
"I was so happy to see this release!"
I absolutely loved the Synchronicity Wars series and was very pleased with the new release of this book! I can only hope that the story continues.. It's awesome to hear from old friends and even meet some new people in the story. To the author: PLEASE keep this story going!!!
"My Brain Hurts"
Interesting premise and good characters, but the execution is lacking. Using time travel as a military technology both saves and dooms the human race in at least 5 different time lines. I am sure some ppl will like this, but I like it when the hero wins. Victor Shilo dies over and over... everything he does makes things worse. His last death actually seems to save the day, but I am guessing it will prove to be bad for humans when the next book comes out. it is just too depressing to read about the hero failing and dying over and over. I really liked the characters and the universe, but the time travel thing baked my brain and the depressing story line just ruinef it for me. Luke Daniels us great though.
"I like a series tied up well, this book untied it"
This after series additional book did not follow the well rounded ending of the four book Synchronicity Wars series. I found myself deciding not to include it in my own thinking as part of the series. I really enjoyed the extensive character building over so many different situations in the Synchronicity Wars and I felt that this book really undid much of that.
I strongly suggest buying the four books in the Synchronicity Wars series. This ranks among my favorite books along with The Lost Fleet series. This stand alone book really didn't add to the series.
"Great story "
I really enjoy the synchronicity war series and this one is no different. It does tie up the lose ends.
"First class military sci-fi"
I't hard to tell, I love just about all of it
Victor Shiloh and Iceman
The AI's made me laugh
This book is supposed to stand alone, but I don't agree with that. Please do yourself a favour and read (or listen to) "The Synchronicity War" series first. And I hope the author will write a successor.
A great way time end the series, lots of great twists and turns. very typical of the author and the book series.
"Great stand alone"
I really enjoyed this take off of the series. If you liked the original trilogy, you'll like this one. It does have some answers.
"Love this addition to the series"
A great continuation to the series. I hope he writes another. And please keep using the same narrator because he is the best.
"consider time travel an artificial intelligence"
I loved a good action story that makes me consider what the limitations would be of time travel an artificial intelligence.
