Now, Cohen the Barbarian is going on one final quest. He's going to climb the highest mountain in the Discworld and meet his gods. He doesn't like the way they let men grow old and die. The last hero in the world is going to return what the first hero stole. With a vengeance.
That'll mean the end of world, if no one stops him in time. Someone is going to try. So who knows who the last hero really is?

Pratchet's already funny prose was brought to life brilliantly by the narrator, with excellent characterisation and pace.
Leonard. A brilliant lateral view of Leonardo da Vinci.
He knew exactly when to inject pace into the story telling and when to let Pratchet's dry humour have the subtle thinking space required.
Would definitely buy another of these.
Prefer listening to audiobooks than music these days! Currently working my way through the Discworld collection. Also enjoy science books!
With the Silver Horde on their last quest, Cohen leads them to their ultimate battle.
Once again, Sir Terry's unique style and characterisation leads you through this short but, nevertheless, fabulous adventure.
Stephen Briggs' narration is engaging and he brings each of the characters to life! Much more stylised than Nigel Planer.
This audiobook must be a definite addition to any Discworld fan's audiobook collection!
Fantastic story about a group of old people who will not accept they are getting to old to do the things they used to do. They moan about how things are not like they were in the old days, however they still manage to overcome many enemies and go out in a blaze of glory like all hero's should.
"One of Pterry's shorter works, but excellent and well worth your time."
This book deals with weighty themes using pathos, wit, and an age-appropriate narrative for anyone, young or old, who enjoys fantasy fiction.
Don't dismiss this little gem from the Discworld collection. =)
I'm a TP fan - love the characters, love the stories, love the wit. An enjoyable reading of a fascinating book.
"I love Terry Pratchett"
I am a great fan of Terry Pratchett and would not know how many of his books I have read. More that a dozen easily and I have enjoyed them all. This book was no different. It was a great read with some of the classic old characters making a reappearance (It is the seventh Rincewind novel).
Unfortunately it was my first Terry Pratchett audio book and as much as I enjoyed the story I did not enjoy this format. The full story revolves around several parallel sub-stories and flips back and forth between them. On paper this is fine as normally an * or extra line spacing or something is marked between switching from one story to the next. In this book there wasn't any form of sub-story switching markers so on many times I found myself confused when from one sentence to the next the story had switch from one sub-story to the next. Many other audio books use some sort of 3 second music, chime or section title when doing this. That is they adapt the written novel a little for an audio audience. In this story this is not done it simply is someone sitting reading you the paperback.
I just found this continuously frustrating. Everything else was fine - Narration was great by Stephen Briggs and the style of Pratchett's humor never disappoints e.g.
"Harry - You are like a refreshing fart in a room full of roses" - Terry Pratchett, The Last Hero
"Cohen, and the Horde, Lives!!"
Thoroughly enjoyed Stephen Briggs rendition of this pleasureable visit to the Discworld. Always a pleasure to revel in Pterry's playful use of words and ideas. Always left wanting more.
"Just as enjoyable as the book..."
I love all of Terry Pratchett's books and this is a very enjoyable way of bringing the written word to life. The Last Hero is a very cute story and the narration with all the variances in voices brings it more to life....
