"Still entertaining after all these books"
I've found very few authors who can keep a series going past book 3 (or 4 at the most) and still keep the story compelling, interesting and creative. Richard Fox is one of those rare birds and book 5 is more proof of that. Part of it has to do with the unique cast of characters he has created, from naive to serious to snarky to untrustworthy to heroic to despicable but all compelling and woven in such a way that they each play a worthy part of the story. He also stages these peoples in ways that their scenes are often only loosely grouped to the others so that it's like a bunch of disconnected mini-story arcs occurring during the telling of the book.
I was saddened when in book 4 one of my favorite characters, Sergeant Torni gave up her life in a selfless act to save her squad but am pleased that she re-surfaces again in book 5 ... sort of.
Excellent writing and Luke Daniels is an excellent narrator.
"lots of awesomeness"
loved this entire series! the adventures of hale and his marines has been a fascinating tale. one people of all ages could love. Luke daniels is one of the top tier narrators in the biz and captures the stories he reads with exquisite precision. can't wait for audible to finish producing the series!!!
Narration very good very animated I like animated story like that very well done can Not wait for book 6
This has been a great series. Can't wait for the rest of the series to be on audible.
"You will continue to live it."
Mr. Fox keeps you entertained and mesmerized with each chapter. The ending well let's just say you'll love it and definitely be wanting to get the next book as soon as you can. The one thing that Mr. Fox does is keep you focused on each characters story within the main story so you can fully understand the stories main points. You can also close your eyes and see each picture or scene as clear as a bell. You will love this book and be waiting to get the next!
"As hoped and expected, this series gets better..."
I have trouble reading text - I can do it, but - audio is always better for me.
Spaceships, aliens, a struggle for humanity's survival - undertones on the question of what makes a person a person? - What's not to like? The story is intriguing for me, it h as many elements that are similar to other SciFi novels with space travel and aliens, its another book with all of humanity's ability to exist on the line, but it is also imaginative and unique. - The overall story does some things that I didn't expect, nor could have imagined. It literally does everything for me a good SciFi book with space ships and aliens should do.
You're not asking me to spoil anything now are you?! There's a scene with a Trojan Horse, does it work, does it not? I think its my favorite.
I don't think actual tears came out of my eyes, but there were a couple of scenes where I felt like I was crying or about to cry.
I've seen the comments, not everyone finds this series enjoyable. I'm not going to tell you its amazing, but it is a 4 out of 5 in my book. I'm enjoying it, I'm not finding it boring, its a solid book. - I would read it again, so 4 out of 5.
I like the story but I have a long commute and I just finished the one I hope the next books comes to audible soon if not I have to stay up late at night reading off my Ipad and I need the sleep
the black fleet series
I like his use of voice entombment to give the character's
the hard decisions being made by the high command and the feeling that the low officers only get part of the picture and have a hard time dealing with it. Being a Veteran in combat I can relate to this
I wish that the next books comes in soon for audible I enjoy the reader and story line
"Very good action; great characters"
Another satisfying installment in the series. I really enjoyed the simultaneous conflicts and kept rooting for the good guys!
"another wonderful listen"
good for anyone who likes action

nope, just need the next one.
"Ever more bizarre"
It continues to get ever more far out and unbelievable. Star Trek on steroids but enjoyable. Excellent narration, good characters, good development.
