Publisher's Summary

The thrilling sequel to the runaway best seller The Last Girl.

Zoey is not the woman she once was. She's watched her friends die at the hands of their captors, been hunted, and returned from the brink of death. Now she must find the truth about who she is.

In search of the family she never knew, Zoey learns of personal records stored in an Idaho missile silo that may contain the information she and the other women seek. With the help of her group of newfound friends, Zoey travels to the missile facility, but among the records, they uncover information that leads to an insidious and horrific new foe: the Fae Trade, a macabre carnival of slavery and pain.

Zoey's journey into the darkest parts of the human psyche brings her perilously close to the ever-thinning line between good and evil, and the final cost in her quest for justice might be her own humanity.

    "Completely Riveting"

Amazing follow-up to the first story in the series. Very fast-paced plot that keeps you in the edge of your seat. The world-building is incredible - so unique yet so believable. Character growth keeps things interesting, and plot twists keep you guessing the whole way.

    "Joe Hart does it again!"

I love this series. It's a long listen which is good because you get your money's worth. The book is well written. Zoey, the main character is frustrating at times because she's strong and determined but yet she has this "woe is me" thing that goes on throughout the book. I like the adventure it feels like I'm on when I listen to this series. I can't wait til the next one.

    "Loved this one!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really enjoyed the first book but I thought the second book had a lot more plot and was so interesting to listen to. So much happens and I loved following Zoey's Story.

Which character – as performed by Dara Rosenberg – was your favorite?

Dara Rosenberg was AMAZING. She captures Zoey's tone and had me along for the entire ride. I absolutely loved this and can't wait for the 3rd one!

    "Excellent sequel"
What made the experience of listening to The Final Trade the most enjoyable?

Having read the prequel a few months before, I was delighted to hear there was a follow-on. It didn't disappoint, we are brought through the fraught existence in a post-war world where young females are much sought after.

Suspenseful, read The Last Girl first. I usually don't like series books but I can't wait for the finale!

    "Interesting and engaging"

The story continuation is both engaging and interesting. Certainly not the great American novel but interesting still. The premise is still along the typical alt universe with a twist. If you like survival stories you should like this one. I plan on going on and reading others in the series. I'm curious as to what happens to the various characters.

    "Not worth the credit"

I really enjoyed the first book so was hopeful that this would be good too. unfortunately it was not. the narration is different, lacking, to fast at times. And there just lacks the sense of true suspense and feeling of losing yourself in the story this time around.
I listened all the way through but often found myself rewinding after realizing I'd lost focus. I'd hoped somewhere along the line it would pick up. unfortunately this book just stops suddenly! not like a good wrap up that leaves you hanging for the next. it literally just stops. there's more to come obviously with the last sentence being "they're coming", but I sadly don't even care who's coming.
