Summary

Astronauts Jim Parker and Michael Murphy, aboard the space shuttle Charger II, were wrapping up a routine mission. Just prior to re-entry, they encountered a mysterious cloud bank in space and were never heard from again. Two years later, a metal box was unearthed at a construction site in St. Louis. In it was a previously unknown, yet apparently authentic, journal of the historic Lewis and Clark expedition: written by astronaut Jim Parker. Did Parker and Murphy alter history, or did they save it?

Good story, bad recording

The book is a really great way of getting a feel for an important part of American history. The time travel theme is not explored very much, but I found myself engrossed in the history. The main problem is the recording, which sounds like it's been sent over a poor internet connection - clearly not CD quality. At times you get that metallic sound that shows too much compression. Shame when you have nearly 7 hours to listen too. Two stars rather than four due to this.

Great Idea for a book

Started really well despite it being as American as apple pie! If you don't know much about the American war of independence some of the detail can be confusing. It doesn't end it just pauses waiting for the next episode. All in all a pleasant experience.
