In the wake of Earth's collapse into chaos, Captain Hoshiko Stuart made the mistake of speaking her mind - and was exiled six months from Sol to a naval base in an unexplored and uncontacted sector. Placed in command of a single squadron of starships, she expected nothing but boredom.
But when she discovers an alien race threatening to exterminate all other races within the sector, Hoshiko and her squadron are drawn into a war to stop them, even if it means forging an alliance with aliens who may themselves become a threat to humanity and building an empire that may alienate her from her family once and for all.

The story was good, though it lacked something. it was just plain war, battles and the plot was quite simple. I have enjoyed it, but maybe I am used to more sophisticated stuff... Recommended anyway.
Christopher G Nuttall is fast lyrics becoming one of my favourite science fiction authors. Everything I have read or listened to that he has written is absolute gold. Keep up the good work.
Probably the least engaging of the trilogy but still a great listen. At times it felt a little predictable unlike most of his books but still moved at a decent pace and concludes the story
ZomPoc Guru.. I love the Zombie/Appocalpse gendre. SciFi is Great, Fantasy is enjoyable but ZomPoc is simply awesome..
I've seen some very poor reviews regarding this series from reviewers that obviously do not know the skill and story telling ability of the author. I feel that such negative reviews are clearly designed to do damage - 1 star - get real - In today's cut throat world authors that score that low do not get into production nevermind publish 30+ audiobooks and have such a fan following.
My honest impression of this series was one of delight. Definately a must read series and I am as eager to read book four as I was the second and third installments.
Christian Rumme was excellent. Clear crisp narration. Now I have two performers I truly like. The other is Mark Boyette. From Chapter 15, it's all military sci-fi at its best. I totally ignored everyone today just to enjoy this audio book to the end. It's a "Page Turner" LOL.
This series of books is simply amazing. A great reflection on existing policies and what could happen. Simply amazing book series!
"I couldn't put it down"
an enveloping story. I hope there will be more to it. I will definitely be looking for the next book.
"News from the future "
Written before the latest historic election, this author tries to show us our future. And it feels like ( I hope not), he got it gorgeously right.
Love this series. Hated the character Hochiko. It was to the point that part way through the book I started rooting for her demise. I was all in at the beginning but the character seemed to come from nowhere & felt like the author could have been better served sticking to the characters established in book 1 or 2 in this series. I regret spending a credit on this particular book.
"need more story less morals"
I the us and the world are screwed, quit telling me every three sentences. boring.
awesome book. love this series. Thanks to everyone who partook in this and brought it to us!
"a gross simplification of current social issues"
The author puts forth a simple understanding and solution to current social issues. While entertaining, his view point was loss in right wing rigidity cloaked in "good ole American self-reliance." I.E. BS.
The mixed marrige, multi racial families/societies clash with the very real issue of ethnic distrust and disdain.
As far as Sci-fi goes, not bad. As a war tale, mediocre. As a social criticism, dismal.
The reader was excellent, maybe the only reason that I listened to all 3 books.
Nice, I hope book 4 audio will be out soon. Can't wait for the next edition.
"a good science fiction book I listened to it about"
this book helped me at the edge of my seat I love all the characters that was a description of Science Fiction and talk about spaceships
