"This is one of the outstanding SF novels of recent years." ( Publishers Weekly)
"As the plot thickens and the relationships between the characters become more complex, Wilson's narration is a calm and steady beacon." ( AudioFile)

Too many

Too many characters to keep them separate along the way reduced my joy of this sequel to the eminent Sundiver.

Fun

Having read the first in the series allowed me a little jump start in understanding some things about this book. The stories are stand alone, so you don’t *have* to read the first, but it takes the author a long time to explain things like why the Galactics look down on the Humans. But never mind, the story is great and it even includes some poetry. Bonus!

The narrator was so incredibly slow that I was able to boost the speed to 1.6x original speed.
