Darth Vader and the emperor are dead, but the Empire lives on, and the Alliance must continue to struggle with dwindling supplies of cash and resources. Princess Leia, seeking new allies to bring into the Alliance and a new planet as home for the influential refugees of Alderaan, considers a proposal that could tip the balance of power against the evil Empire. The Hapes consortium, a cluster of 63 high-tech worlds, is ruled by the Queen Mother. She wants Leia to marry her son, the dashing and wealthy Prince Isolder.
When Han Solo hears the news of Leia's impending nuptials, he reacts with shock. Han has always dreamed of marrying Leia. Yet, in spite of his heroic exploits, he feels she sees him as nothing more than a rogue and a pirate, unworthy of her hand. Now he makes a desperate last gamble to win her back. Tricking Leia into accompanying him, Han flees with her to the beautiful and untamed planet Dathomir, where he hopes to win her heart.
Fearing the imperious queen's reaction to Han's rash move, Luke Skywalker forms an unlikely alliance with Prince Isolder to track down the runaways. Luke has been traveling the far reaches of the galaxy in search of the scattered lore of the Jedi Knights. But when he, Artoo, and Isolder set off to Dathomir, Luke does not suspect that he is beginning an adventure that will lead to the discovery of an awesome treasure, a group of Force-trained "witches"...and a showdown with an invincible foe.

"Anthony Heald is a superb performer for the various Star Wars audiobooks. He slides in and out of distinctive Star Wars characters with such smoothness that the characters are instantly recognizable, as if the original actors were working in ensemble." (AudioFile)
"Better than I thought it would be! recommended."
Realistic as a film, sounds and voices from original movies, great story,I am very surprised by the book!
"Great story, but narrator ruins it for me"
I would recommend that they listen to this book if they need to fill story gaps, but not if they can't ignore bad narration with multiple mispronunciations. Coruscant is pronounced "CorusKant", Han Solo sounds like a 1940's gangster, and Wedge Antilles sounds like Scotty from Star Trek. Very distracting after hearing the amazing Mark Thompson in so many great readings!
Pronounce the words in the Star Wars universe correctly since most of the people who listen to these books are big Start Wars fans.
Listen to the next story
Please have Mark Thompson narrate any book previously narrated by Anthony Heald!
"Not as good as others"
the reader is too fast at times. chapter 1 is infuriating that leia would even consider an arranged marriage for a peace treaty.
take the setting out and the last two chapters r quite good.
narrator needs to slow down he is too fast.
As an OTR trucker, Audio books keep it from getting so Monotonous. Since I am a die hard star wars fan I like the star wars books. This book was a great read and when I got the audio book I was hoping for the best and got it. I've listened to it three times now and am drawn in as much as the previous times. a recommended audio book for the star wars fans!
Written very well, encompases humor and action with a well thought through plot. Need to read/listen to this book in order to understand future Star Wars novels. A very small percentage of the book actually pertains to courting Leai.
"Leia Ruins Story."
Story wasn't that good. I'm a big fan of the cast, but didn't like the story elements behind it. SPOILERS TO FOLLOW.................. Leia supposedly falls out of love with Han after 6 months of being apart? Yet they maintained communication for that time? The entire premise seems so flawed. Han and Leia are madly in love for all the novels before, and then all of a sudden they fall out of love? Weak. Everybody else plays their role well except for Leia.
This is one sorry from the post ROJ lineage I'm not sorry was erased by the new Force Awakens reboot. This story line and depiction of the classic characters is horrible.
I read the original paperback version in the 90's before many of the better lines like Rogue Squadron and Heir to the Empire. I only bought this to explore the storyline as it was retouched upon in the Clone Wars on Cartoon network. I'm sorry I blew the credits.
Kept my attention and was able to focus on book without rewinds from being lost
"Great Story, god awful narration"
I've read the book and I enjoyed it. Despite how much I enjoyed the book the narration is equivalent to filling a wetsuit full of curry and let it fester in sauna for a month, then pulling it out, cutting it open and inhaling deeply. Do not waste money on this. I love Star Wars but I regret the time and money I wasted on this audio book.
