With a noose around his neck, Samuel arrives in a forest littered with caution tape and artifacts of the deceased. He struggles to regain his memory while fending off a pack of wolves and the mysterious visitors who seem to know more about this dying world than he does. Major, Kole, and Mara, new companions also trapped in this strange place, realize they must outrun the ominous cloud eating away at their world before it collapses upon itself. Samuel must find a way to escape the reversion.

I have just discovered J Thorn and was not sure what to expect. This is not a typical 'Horror' story but rather encourages the listener to think about life after death. Took me a while to get into it but once the characters were formed I was eager to move with them through the book.
My first foray into audio books was a positive experience! Thank you J Thorn
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. While this book started slowly, as the story progressed, I became more interested in the characters, why they were in the reversion, and hiw they were connected. This was an interesting "study" on second chances.
The psychological development of the characters as they try to figure out why they are in the reversion and why they have a second chance.
This was my first time listening to David. He has a pleasant voice. The varying voices for the characters were subtle but distinctive. I would definitely listen to him again.
Samuel was the most memorable character. He was "teachable," able to learn from his experiences.
I appreciate Mr. Thorn offering this as a free book. It allowed my to discover a new author and genre that I may never have tried.
I had a really hard time finishing this book. The story just couldn't hold my attention, and I found myself picking other books to read. The narrator did ok portraying the story, yet something was missing.I purchased the e-book,but received the audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Im not a huge horror fan but I do read J Thorn's books...I love them. This book is very well narrated an written. I didnt find this story "scary" persay I think it is more of a "play with your mind" creepy. The characters are easy to know an understand an I enjoyed listening to how they handled the issues that came up for them. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to take a day an spend it in the mind of an brilliant author....
This book is a bit cerebral in its approach to horror. It is not full of spine-tingling stuff that has you on the edge of your seat, instead, it has a lot to offer the mind as you journey through a very interesting take on "after-life"(?)
I did find myself wanting a bit more action at times, but once I got into the flow, I found this to be a very pleasant read that fit perfect in small doses during my day.
An interesting tale in a creepy world. As the tale unfolds, you're dragged along with the characters as they try to figure out how to get out of their predicament. Many things happen, some are explained, some are not, in the end you want to get the next novel.
"Thorn has created a bleak yet flavorful world!"
All in all, very solid writing that keeps you captivated on what is waiting for the characters around the corner.
Out of the books I have read, it definitely captures the essence of Kings, "The Dark Tower" series. I you are a fan of the books as I am, then you will be in luck.
This is the first rodeo with Lawrence at the head, leading me through a desolate world and it was a pleasant experience.
When I first learned of this series through Facebook of all things, I was kind of excited to begin this journey. I followed Thorns fan page and email newsletter and was eventually chosen for a review copy. I can honestly say this was amazing because the book exceeded my expectations. This book left me wondering what would come next and now I cannot wait to get started on Book 2. If you are a fan of horror, you owe it to yourself to check out this series.
I read all the Portal Arcane books and enjoyed them. The audible version is good to listen to. The narrator did a great job.
