She is wrong.

Enjoyable

Good story. Narration good for first two books but the last book was painful to listen to !
The attempt at Scottish accent was truly dreadful and spoiled a good little story . I ended up giving up the audio and reading last book on my kindle.

interesting story

enjoying the story with its sudden apocalypse. performance grates a bit due to the narrator's attempt at Scottish accent, that seems to move all over the place from Glasgow to Mumbai!

A book spoiled by the narration.

The narration is not the best. The character accents really spoil the book. I finished it by forgetting that Mac was supposed to be Scottish...

Great story awful accents

Enjoying the series on the whole but how anyone let the dreadful Scottish accent which seems like a mix of Indian and welsh through the net for publishing then I will never know
It’s really off putting to listen to

execrable narration

Having spent some time listening to several series with tremendous narration, I needed to have a break from paying for credits. Post Christmas and all that. I have kindle unlimited and my sister suggested this series to tide me over. The first two were fine - not amazing, with rather clunky writing in places, but I wanted to keep listening at least. This book has finished me off. The accents are just so, so bad, its making the book unendurable. The English changes every phrase, the Scottish one is laughably bad and the Welsh one is unrecognisable. If she hadn't said he was Welsh we would never have known. I'll finish this book, but I think I'll have to throw in the towel for the rest of the series. I'll pay up so I can carry on with the Dresden files, where the narration is so good it makes it better than when I read the books the first time.

Why the awful accents??

I've listened to all three books of the extinction point trilogy... The first two were brilliantly narrated. But, Emily! Part three? Either narrate in your spoken tongue (preferable) or get language coaching. The English, Scottish and Welsh accents are so incredibly bad that I've had to stop listening. I'm sorry, I have rarely posted reviews, but just had to put this one out there. I cringe at every accent!

War of the worlds knock off!

Why do Americans feel the need to butcher the British accents! I’d rather they had stuck to their own accent than ruin the Scottish and Welsh accents.

Storyline is ok, but very padded out and could have made one book rather than 3! However it killed some time.

Overall not my best purchase, but far from my worst! Has some very obvious nods to war of the worlds, in fact the whole time I was waiting for names like ‘Nathanial’ to appear and references like ‘star child’. So in conclusion if you like war of the worlds be warned this is a cheap rip off!

great story but poor narration

As the last book in the trilogy i really enjoyed the story however the narrator's attempts at English and Scottish accents was so woeful, it was off-putting. I could actually feel myself cringeing at the shockingly bad Scottish accent which would not have been so distracting had the accent not belonged to a main character. The narrator's own American accent would have been better than this horrendously mispronounced attempt at a Scottish dialect. (Hint - "reporting for dooty" is never going to be a British pononunciation of duty (jooty) no matter how many Rs are rolled in the preceding words.)

A mediocre Storyline with appauling narration

This was included in Amazon's Kindle Unlimited, as such was "free". DO NOT WASTE A CREDIT ON THIS.

I just wasted around 9 hours of my life. I could put up with the story, but the accents made this TRULY AWFUL.

I did laugh out loud at times though - being Scottish, living in Wales, I do have the occasional put on accent from colleagues at work (Hey Yooo Jimmy, etc, etc) so am used to really rubbish accents, .. BUT, this narrator brings this to a new level. Really. I can't bang on enough about it. As it's the 3rd book, you've already made up your mind about the story. It's not the best but fine for running / cycling - not too much thought required really and very predictable.

The accents will haunt me forever!

Poor in comparison to the first 2 books.

A turgid and padded storyline with mostly unintelligent dialogue. The narrator's accents are appalling, making all English characters sound like either Mary Poppins or Dick van Dyke. And I swear the story's Scottish character sounds more like Sven the Viking than Billy Connoly. One to miss.
