Publisher's Summary

Soccer mom and demon fighter Barbara Everette is back in this intricately interwoven monster noir thriller, the sequel to bestselling Princess of Wands by eight times New York Times best-seller, John Ringo.

Barbara Everette has a problem. It seems Janea, Barbara's assistant and The Foundation for Love and Universal Faith's best operative, has been thrown into a coma by some very nasty magic she's stirred up. Barbara must track down the perpetrators and break the spell or Janea's soul will be forever lost on the astral plane. Oh, and if she can't break the spell, zombies will destroy all mankind. Meanwhile, Janea, a high-dollar call girl, stripper and High Priestess of Freya when she isn't fighting demons, must contend with a spiritual journey of her own.

It's a journey into Janea's acceptance of herself in all her dimensions (and what dimensions they are!). Where to locate one's true inner essence? At a science fiction convention, of course. But when rescuers pursue Janea into her vision of a geeky alternate reality, we find this is one science fiction convention where the Guest of Honor could turn out to be Death Himself.

Finally, the Christian soccer mom and the Norse priestess stripper face their greatest challenge ever when an ancient Old One rears Her ugly face, and the Mother of Darkness walks among us. Since this is one Mother who is quite immune to any conventional power, including nuclear weapons, it seems humanity's only hope is God. The question being: Is God willing to save humanity? Fortunately for the rest of us, Barbara and Janea are determined to fight to the last ounce of faith to find out.

    Story
    "Good second book"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is as the first book in the series a very well written action book. It has lots of ass kicking and demon slaying spiced up with lots of humor. This part of the story is very well written and keeps you hooked all the way trough. The book also has some discussions of the nature of faith and identity that are interesting but they are not quite as sharply written as the rest but they can still make you think.

Have you listened to any of Liv Anderson’s other performances? How does this one compare?

The book is very well read. Each person has his or her own voice fitting their personality.

Basically on the same level as the first book in the series.
Book is separated into 3 parts,my favourite is the third one, and based on the ending, we definitely should expect the third book.

    Story
"John Ringo is a truely great writer."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Queen of Wands is an action packed and perfect follow up to Princess of Wands.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Queen of Wands?

The President asks the Nation for a prayer to overcome the Old One.

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is when Barb proves the power of god with the use of a 500 year old Katana.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This book I started and finished in one sitting. A story that really does suck you in.

    Any additional comments?

I have bought both books in this series and also every other book John Ringo has writen and look forward to any other books he writes. I have been truly impressed by the skill and detail he instills in his novels, and recomend this Author to any Military Sci-Fi fans or hardcore fantasy. Really if you want a truely great read you will never go wrong with John Ringo.

Would you consider the audio edition of Queen of Wands to be better than the print version?

I have yet to listen to the audio version, however I absolutely love the written version. I have reread this book at least 10 times

What did you like best about this story?

It takes a different perspective of faith and "magic"

What about Liv Anderson’s performance did you like?

Once again I have yet to listen to it, I purchased the audio version for entertainment.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The acceptance of other God's. I am weary of the monotheistic crap that is prevalent.

    Any additional comments?

A very enjoyable tale, in my opinion it ranks among his best..

    "I love this world!"

A Christian soccer mom that battles evil is a neat concept. This particular book was bittersweet at the end. A shocking conclusion that leaves me wanting more Barbara Everett stories.

"Not as Good as Book One but Enjoyable"
If you could sum up Queen of Wands in three words, what would they be?

    Stacked, Packed and Cons

What did you like best about this story?

Interesting look into the world of literary Cons- something most of us have likely never experienced. John Ringo's books seem to be a commentary on his current passions in life...

Have you listened to any of Liv Anderson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She was great- I am usually not a fan of female readers but she does a great job of bringing the character to life.

"Interesting but not as good as the first"
What did you like best about Queen of Wands? What did you like least?

If you were a big fan of "Princess of Wands", you should read this book. I did not think that the narrator did it justice though. Some interesting twists, and a cool way to add "DragonCon" into the story line. Good fill out about Janea.

If you’ve listened to books by John Ringo before, how does this one compare?

Okay, but not as good as the first story.
