The book was hidden well.
Its pages promised the power of the Witch-King himself.
And now that it's been found, even the fact that it kills anyone foolish enough to crack its cover won't stop people from fighting over it.
Welcome to the Bloodstone Lands!
Human assassin Artemis Entreri and his dark elf companion Jarlaxle have come to the demon-haunted wastelands of the frozen north at the request of their dragon patron. It doesn't take long for them to find themselves caught in the middle of a struggle between powerful forces that would like nothing more than to see them both dead...or worse.
But Entreri and Jarlaxle aren't just any wandering sellswords, and the ancient evils and bitter blood-feuds of the wild Bloodstone Lands may have finally met their match.

"pretty good read can't wait to start the next one"
started off a bit slow I was wondering if I was even going to enjoy it, but it picked up and continued accelerating all the way till the end a good from the original story
"One of R A Salvatore's best."
I'm listening to R A Salvatore's works in chronological order.. this has been my favorite. :)
Never a dull moment exciting from go to done. I like the reflection of real life, sometimes there is no clear cut good or bad guy this book absolutely speaks to the duality of Man & Women. Is someone Good just because of who they work for? is it bad to break a law if it needs to be done? it was once against the law to run if you were a Slave.
I've always loved these books.. so enthralling is R. A. Salvatore's writing that to listen to the audio books, that time passed in the blink of an eye. Loved it!
Can't wait for the next. Love his performance of Artemis and Jarlaxal. Rather fond of Athrogate as well.
"Great book, Victor nails it."
This is a great story and once again Victor nails it home. I have not come across the bad Salvatori book, but I must've met I only like it when Victor narrates them, so I will tour has deviated a few times by letting other people narrate and that is his biggest flaw.
"best book in whole forgotten relms"
two lovable characters a new setting, it funny it's suspenseful and entertaining.
it just that after listening to victors melodic voice I find myself falling asleep on the mornings
"Bloody boots and muddy blades"
A Friend Integrated the book into a 3.5e D&D homebrew campaign back in the day. Very enjoyable to listen to the events play out compared to what happened in the homebrew campaign and the similarities as well. I'll never forget Kosef Turnskull & Latrell Lamar visiting the Bloody Boots and Muddy Blades in aggravation at the lack of success in the hunt.
a memorable story and a really good performance. . . . . . . .
"Overall, O.K., but the new books, (Companion series)"
The newer books are so much better than this one. I like Entreri and Jarlaxle
Athrogate and the dragon sisters, but the other characters seemed shallow.
I went back to this story after starting to read the Companion series again. If you're waiting for the old Dritzz, he's back from the bog of eternal depression, along with a few others you may have thought long gone. So glad I took a chance again! And there are many more books in the series! Glad to have you back Bob Salvatore! I would love to see Dritzz in a mentor position to his own child discovered and sought out, raised up from Menzobaranzan.
Another soul to watch reach for and discover the light. A Zaknafein who is not broken, who found help before he broke.
