#1 New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole enraptures again with this seductive tale of a fierce werewolf prince who will stop at nothing to protect the lovely archer he covets from afar.
A Dangerous Beauty... Lucia the Huntress: as mysterious as she is exquisite, she harbors secrets that threaten to destroy her - and those she loves.
An Uncontrollable Need... Garreth MacRieve, Prince of the Lykae: the brutal Highland warrior who burns to finally claim this maddeningly sensual creature as his own.
That Lead to a Pleasure so Wicked... From the shadows, Garreth has long watched over Lucia. Now, the only way to keep the proud huntress safe from harm is to convince her to accept him as her guardian. To do this, Garreth will ruthlessly exploit Lucia's greatest weakness - her wanton desire for him.

I can walk my dogs or clean/iron while listening. Can not do that with book. With such great narrator I admit to laziness, but in case of Kresley Cole, I do get books as well since many have not been availible as audio at time the book came out. So, I have this series fully pre-read so to speak.
Cole is the only author in this gendre I read/listen. I tried some other authors, but none has worked for me. It is nice that there are not only vampires out there.
EVERYTHING! I LOVE THE MAN!
Not my absolute favourite by KC, but still will re-listen again some time soon. Great book. Excellent narrator and good action.
Yes. Love the series in paperback and Robert petkoff is brilliant.
Gareth and lachlain.
Yes. I've listened to the other kresley Cole's he's done. All have been excellent
This book gives us Garreth and Lucia, the Lykae Prince and the huntress. I knew I was going to love this and I was right. There was more to the story than the previous books and I was so hooked I listened to it all in one day. Gareth is a dream, more so than Sebastian even, and the narration for him was just sublime. Robert Petkoff brings the story to life once again with his fabulous narration. He's the best narrator I've heard bar none.
"I want to marry Robert Petkoff ! He's Awesome..."
I’m in total awe whenever I read a Kresley Cole novel because of her incredible world building skills and amazing cast of characters she has created. Pleasure of a Dark Prince has everything you could want. Great action, luscious love making scenes and a few sneaky twists and turns you won’t see coming. The ending alone will have you dying for the next book. I’ve also come to the realization that the character of Nix is possibly the most important one in this whole series. She is the one responsible for all of these character’s destinies and uses them much like chess pieces on a board so she can reach her ultimate goal. Pay very close attention to whenever Nix pops up because it will give you insight on what is in store for her."Pleasure of a Dark Prince is yet another winner where I bow down to the masterful storytelling of Kresley Cole. She now has me wishing for my own Garreth" Finally i So LOVE Robert Petkoff. His voice changing skills are second to none! I could listen to his voice for months on end. Perhaps he'll marry me? Wink Wink .....
"Favorite of The IAD Series!"
This was the first of the Immortals After Dark Book I ever read and it was so good I couldn't put it down. When I finally saw that it was available as an audio book I was super Excited! The story is action packed, non stop and funny too!
Robert Petkoff brings each and every character to life and some how he also gives them all a distinct voice! Like when Lothaire made and apperance it sounded just like Lothaire in his own book. This guy is the best in the business!
"PNR has no equal!"
Kresley Cole is still the reigning Queen of the Lore and PNR! I just love all of her books and I'm really looking forward to the next one. Fabulous one-liners, I love all of her characters can't to see Regin's or Charro's story. Oh and Robert Pettkoff ...(groan)...excellent as always.... Like I said I so want a personalized ringtone for my cell phone in your Lykea voice....hmmmm. I think in an installment of IAD all the Lykea should be gathered around in nothing but their tartans, that is just a total drool fest in my mind....hmmm. Kresley Cole is always credit worthy.
"Garreth was a great mate for Lucia"
I LOVED IT. What an awesome audiobook! Robert Petkoff was on it again! His various voices really kept each character entertaining! I don't think I can go back to reading this series on my kindle.
Sometimes the timeline with this series throw me off, but the events of this book coincided with A Hunger Like No Other. This one was a lykae lead, not demon nor vampire.
My two favorite books featured Lykae, Bowen & Garreth.
In this book Garreth was playing rugby with other supernatural creatures when he scented Lucia, his female. The one had been searching all over for. He quickly followed her scent until he was able to really behold her. She was an archer, the best archer in the lore, but she had taken a vow of chasity. There was a true dilemma because Lykae had to claim their mates and during the coupling, they had to bite and mark their mates. Lucia's excellence in archery came with a price from a god--if she had sex, she would lose her ability. So Garreth set off to prove to Lucia being with him, was worth more than her skill as the #1 Archer.
What Garreth didn't know was that Lucia had other secrets that she was hiding and they were just as big as her gift with the bow & arrow.
These two were hot, they were sweet, they just worked. Garreth was everything someone like Lucia needed or could want. He was unbelieveably patient with her, he was protective and he was sweet. He put her desires and needs above his own in all things. Wow. I loved how he labored to gain her trust and the fact that never took advantage of it. He was good to her and they made a great team.
I am surprised that I am 10 books into this series and I am enjoying each book more and more. Really great series
"Love this series"
This is a great series and narration is out of this world. My only problem is that Audible hasn't got ALL of them!!!!! I'm waiting because I will have this entire collection in my library. I consider it a must have.
"BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR"
Poor handsome Lykae Garreth was so bored with his life (women throwing themselves at him all the time) and wished for a challenge. Well, that's certainly what he got when he suddenly feels, smells, sees and tries to claim his mate - because Valkarie Lucia, being the best Archer in the Lore, doesn't want anything to do with Garreth because she's got terrible secrets along with good reasons why - one of which is that she's on a mission to save the Apocalypse from happening.
But devoted Garreth, the Scottish Wolf Prince, is out of control so can't, and won't, take no for an answer so he relentlessly chases Lucia around the world while watching, desiring, protecting, lusting but all the while patiently waiting for the chance to bite her and make her his. As the action-packed storyline finally brings them on the same boat their sizzling sexual chemistry ignites but the sexual tension is the least of their worries as unpleasant characters, creatures and events spoil their plans.... but they must endure and overcome challenges, devastation and heartache before salvation can be theirs.
This intense, riveting, sexy, humorous, emotional, gripping story, with it's witty dialogue, is just what you come to expect from the highly imaginative mind of Kresley Cole. She has delivered yet another IAD book that has a very enjoyable paranormal mystery with suspense, a passionate, tender, touching romance and then she populates it with a host of likeable, loveable and compelling characters like the Soothsayer Nucking Futs Nix who brings cryptic clues and zany humor just when it's needed.
Then, as if we're not spoilt enough, the narration is skilfully done by the talented voices of Robert Petkoff who magically brings to life the many characters, infuses them with a vast range of emotions and leaves the listener in awe and grateful for his part in transforming mere words into another amazing listen.
Woth a credit? This 12 hr adventure will have you elated, exasperated, devastated and captivated and all for under $10 - so there's no question that it's creditworthy but for the price I just bought it saving my credit for a more pricey listen.
"All is right with the world again"
After listening to this installment, I now realize why the last few titles have made me cranky. It’s because I’ve been waiting for Garreth’s story since book 1, and the delay finally caught up with me. This series came highly recommended on account of its “sexy Scottish werewolves”, but they’ve been mostly MIA since WICKED DEEDS ON A WINTER’S NIGHT, so the younger MacRieve’s romance was long overdue. All is right with the world again.
In PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE readers get answers to many long running questions which was perfect timing as far as I was concerned because it revived my interest in the IMMORTALS AFTER DARK series. This book covers from pre-A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER, to Garreth’s year long pursuit of Lucia, so it was an excellent overview of where Kresley Cole has been, and her intended direction going forward, although I’m quite positive that Nix will have the last word.
Valkyries and I haven’t exactly seen eye-to-eye in the past; however I’m slowly coming around to this author’s version. Lucia stood out because of her born-again-virginity—the celibate immortal queen should be discarded from IAD’s deck, just saying—and her reputation as The Archer. Garreth was awesome, and I loved the advice that his brother and Bowen kept giving him. They’ve both claimed their mates which gave them unique (amusing) perspectives.
Just when I thought that I had gotten my legs back under me (Robert Petkoff’s narration will do that to you), he goes and whips out a… Texan accent! Oh, and don’t forget that his brogue was also widespread with MacRieve as the male protagonist. This installment reminded me of the earlier IAD audiobooks, the ones that I chain listened to in under a month, so I’m taking it as a sign that a second likewise spree might be around the corner.
PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE was the werewolf that I was looking for.
"this is the best book in the series."
this book has every emotion in it. Petkoff is a beast. The best book hands down.
"My love for IAD will never die!"
Um, I have... and read the book! I ♥ all of Kresley's books, just amazing.
I love when Lucia is on the boat, contemplating if Garreth is going to make the jump to the boat.
All of IAD I have listened to, I haven't sought out any other books that he has read.
This one is definitely one of my favorites and it is filled with lots of excitement and the backstory of Lucia and Regan.
"A Pleasurable Listen"
Yes, I loved it! The Narrator is wonderful. Can't wait for the whole series to be in audio form
I can't pin point one area... I enjoyed it all
The Scottish accents but he does the whole book wonderfully
Don't Miss Out or you'll regret it :)
