From the New York Times best-selling author, Ilona Andrews, comes a new tale from the Innkeeper Chronicles.
Dina DeMille may run the nicest Bed and Breakfast in Red Deer, Texas, but she caters to a very particular kind of guest...the kind that no one on Earth is supposed to know about. Guests like a former intergalactic tyrant with an impressive bounty on her head, the Lord Marshal of a powerful vampire clan, and a displaced-and-superhot werewolf; so don't stand too close, or you may be collateral damage.
But what passes for Dina's normal life is about to be thrown into chaos. First, she must rescue her long-distant older sister, Maud, who's been exiled with her family to a planet that functions as the most lawless penal colony since Botany Bay. Then she agrees to help a guest whose last chance at saving his civilization could bring death and disaster to all Dina holds dear. Now Gertrude Hunt is under siege by a clan of assassins. To keep her guests safe and to find her missing parents, Dina will risk everything, even if she has to pay the ultimate price. Though Sean may have something to say about that!

This is more like a fairy tale for kids, I myself ,found it hard to grasp. And lost interest very quickly when it did not improve. I expected a lot more from this author. Very disappointed.
"Sweep yourself away...."
Yes, sweep yourself away into Dina's world! I love this story and am completely invested in the characters, their lives and all of the activities that take place at Gertrude Hunt. I laughed, I cried and in awe of how well these authors weaves tales with such detail and imagination. Dina and Sean's relationship grows. Dina gets a message that her sister needs her, and she sweeps away to another world with Sean and Arland. Previous interactions with George creates a dire situation that requires Dina to make a huge decision. The intrigue ensues and everyone is involved. The battle scenes are amazing and the twists and turns keeps you very engaged. An opportunity arises for Dina to find her parents. The cost is great. Does she take it? Get the book and find out for yourself. I am so looking forward to the next story.
To good to truly give a proper review but you will most definitely need to lessen to the first 2 book also have a liking for sci-fi/fantasy
And so to Ilona Andrews I can't wait for the next book
"Anothet awesome installment!!!"
This is the third installment of the Innkeeper Chronicles, and I loved it as much as the first. Loved the characters from the previous books and the authors have introduced new characters that are just as great.
Action, laughs, a little romance, one of the best Urban Fantasy series out there. A well written story and another great performance by the narrator. You can't go wrong. If you haven't read the first two books I suggest you go back and read them in order, you won't be sorry.
"Best one yet!!"
You just really have to try this series to understand how interesting it is. I listen to all three of them repeatedly! This reader and author are a great pairing! I can not wait until the next one.
"Love this series! Such possibilities!"
An open world with fantasy and sci-fi elements disguised as a romance!
Very well written and narrated. I like the cast of characters and the new races we meet in each story.
"Love this series and this book is just as good."
Good book. Great characters, an interesting plot and good world building. A taste of what's to come without a cliff hanger.
Narrator on all her books is the same and she always does a great job.
"I always like Ilona Andrews books"
This one picks up nicely after the previous book, Sweep in Peace. I really enjoyed being back in this universe but I felt it wrapped up just a tad too quickly. Maybe I just would've liked another hour or two in the last 1/4 of the book. Could be either/or/both.
All the usual characters are back and we've got a few new faces as well.
I do really like the development with Officer Marace.
Good story good characters waiting to see what happens next. Love the world building lots of imagery.
This series took me a bit longer to get into verses the Kate Daniels series. But now I'm vested and I can't wait for the next book. I even relistened to the first two and this time around the events were clearer in my mind. So far I have listened to everything out there that Ilona Andrews has on audio and I am really glad I found this author. I recommend starting with Magic Bites before this series, as I said before this one took longer for me to love. Narrator is great as always, I love her work especially with Kate Daniels.
"How Can They Keep Getting Better?"
I don't know how this husband and wife writing team could churn out book after book, and yet each one is better than the next. The writing, the plotting, the twists and turns, the humor, the technology . . . I have listened to each story in the series more than once, and have remained entertained at each listening. One of the best things about this series is that I can listen to it with my husband without him getting bored. Love all the stories. I did subtract a star, not because of the writing, or anything other than I wish there was a little less violence. The entire series is a five star read.
