    "A New Urban Fanasty Hero"
Would you consider the audio edition of Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code to be better than the print version?

This is the first audiobook I have listened to without having read the book. It has made me want to read them.

What other book might you compare Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code to, and why?

This is an urban fantasy book, it compares to Joseph Nassise Templar Chronicles series with Cade Williams. Williams and Talon are both drawn into the fight by personal loss, driven by a thirst for revenge.

What about James Foster’s performance did you like?

First audio book I have listened to by James Foster and I found him very easy to listen to. He delivered a crisp performance with distinct character voices and set the tone just right. Looking forward to the second book.

This was such a speedy and entertaining read. I hadn't heard of it before prior to seeing it come up for review, so didn't really know what to expect when I started! I didn't expect to absolutely devour the book in a matter of hours!

Talon returns from Afghanistan with the intention of spending time with his girlfriend, whom he hopes will become his wife! She accepts his proposal but Talon gets a call that an old army buddy is in need so he goes to help. When he returns, it's to see the love of his life dead in an apparent cult kill. He goes off the rails for a while but swears vengeance on her killers. What starts out as vengeance though, quickly becomes his way of life when he sees exactly what the cult is capable of. Thus the Occult Assassin is born.

What can I say that will do this story justice other than it's simply amazing?? Let's start with the characters first! I loved Talon. He is in peak condition, so of course is bad ass. He adores his girlfriend and wants to marry her, so when he finds her dead, it broke my heart. He deserved some HEA but it wasn't to be! But out of this tragedy, a warrior is born. He has always fought for people but this fight is something he never experience. He has to learn about the supernatural and put aside everything he thinks he knows, in order to survive. He is a character that you just can't help but love.

The plot of this was so fast paced and intense that I listened to it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I loved how the author brought together technology and the supernatural. It was well done and easily believable, and heck, most of us think that the big corporations are evil ;)

In all this was an unputdownable read and one I can't recommend enough. I can not wait to dive into the next one to see where Talons' story brings us, good thing I have it queued on my kindle!!!

James Foster was amazing in this. He really brought this story to life. He had the pacing perfectly and ramped up the tension with his voice when needed. I was on the edge of my seat thanks to his performance!!

Great fast moving story Mark Talon is a military hero that gets tossed into the world of the supernatural through a series of awful events. Talon uses what he knows with the help of a benefactor to stop the horror that is occurring. Talon has become my favorite of this authors character.

"Don't judge this one by the cover!"

I wasn't entirely sure what I was going into with this book. The cover reminds me of something weird and from the 80's.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a 'need to finish this book now' drive throughout. A few of the major characters are lacking depth, but the ones that have been developed are interesting. A great science fiction book to listen to! Narrator handles this one like a pro.

"A Fast Paced Thrill Ride All The Way"

OCCULT ASSASSIN: DAMNATION CODE was a fast paced thrill ride all the way from beginning to end. The day after Talon proposes to his girl, he learns she'd been tortured and murdered by a couple of evil cult members after he'd left the night before.

Driven by loss, pain and a thirst to avenge her death, he seeks out a co-worker who may know something about the cult and what they're after. The next thing he knows, she's being shot with a taser gun and thrown into a van before he can reach her to help. This incident elevates the urgency to find answers.

This audiobook is high octane, intense, and edge-of-your seat awesomeness. I hope this becomes a series and look forward to more. I definitely suggest giving this one a listen. Great book by WILLIAM MASSA.

JAMES FOSTER does an amazing job reading this audiobook. He fits the character of Talon perfectly. He shows great voice control while the tension of the storyline builds. I can't think of a better narrator for this. He was outstanding.

Audiobook received from the narrator for an honest review.

    "Entertaining"

This book was entertaining. There were a couple painfully cliché lines in it, but I think those were on purpose. If I am looking for something just entertaining and 'mindless' later on, then I'll definitely go look for more of this series. It was not scary at all, so don't be expecting that. The author came up with an interesting twist on the occult, so that was cool. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

    "A fast paced urban fantasy"

It is a great quick listen, with an engaging main character, a Spec Ops soldier now fighting the forces of the occult after his fiancé is killed by cultists. He uses these specialized skills to stop cultists from raising supernatural destruction and chaos. The plot is fast paced, jetting across the world, with lots of believable action. James Fosters narration is well done, bringing the story to life. Any fan of Heath Stallcup's Monster Squad books should enjoy this series. "Great story that pulls you in right from the start"
What made the experience of listening to Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed the narration. He's has a pleasant voice and his tone portraits the level of excitement the story continually offers.

What did you like best about this story?

I really enjoyed how this title pulled me right into the story from the very start. Most times it takes me a little while to get pulled into the book, but this grabbed my attention from the first few seconds. It's great to have an audiobook that is exciting enough to throw you into the story, despite the normal distractions of everyday life, without having to build up to the action.

Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The opening chapter. It's dark and suspenseful and fully grabbed my attention

    "REALLY GOOD"

    STORY REVIEW......

This is both the first time I've read a book by this author and the first time I've read this type of book. I went into it thinking I probably wasn't going to like it. I was proven to be wrong on that. I loved the book. It was a fascinating, compelling, gripping book. I found this to have a fast paced exciting story line that kept me guessing what would happen next. AND I just have to say THIS WOULD MAKE SUCH A FREAKING AWESOME TV PROGRAM !!! This first book alone could be strung out to make a whole season. I loved how the killer was turning into something more. It would be so wicked sweet to see that on screen. Talon the tortured hero was a great main character. The idea for the story is really cool.

    AUDIO REVIEW......

I found the narrator to be good at straight out reading but in need of a bit of work on making the characters sound different. If you lost focus on listening to the book for a minute you wouldn't know right away which character was speaking. Other then that this book was a delight to listen to. Loved the story.

I will most definitely be continuing with reading the series and highly recommend this book for reading.

    "Lots of fun"
Where does Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For me, it's most definitely a top ten

What did you like best about this story?

It was straight forward with no unnecessary fluff. If you want a straight up action book, this is a good choice

    Which scene was your favorite?

That would be spoiling the book :)

But I will say this, the scene that made me go "Holy Crap!" Was towards the beginning of the book and it involved Talon's fiance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was and I did. Then I started right in on book two.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Occult Assassin #1: Damnation Code?

The final showdown with the bad guys.

What does James Foster bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He brings a lot of energy and emotion that wouldn't have been there in just the written version.
