Vivian and Hadley find themselves in a situation that is even more threatening than the dead walking the earth. Kidnapped by armed men and taken deep into Las Vegas, they're cut off from anyone who cares about them and thrust into a world so sick and twisted that it can only be described as madness. With little hope of being found, Vivian and Hadley must team up with one of the very men who abducted them if they have any hope of escaping their new nightmare.
Watching Vivian get thrown into the back of a van almost tears Axl apart, and he's determined to find her no matter what it takes. With the tension growing between him and Angus, Axl finds himself wondering if the price will be his relationship with his brother. Putting both old and new wounds aside, Axl and Angus must infiltrate the group holding Vivian and Hadley and make their escape through a zombie-ridden Vegas.

This book manages to achieve multiple climaxes...
The one main story was really enough, but it kept going and when you think that that must be the end, it goes on for one more climax and an exciting conclusion. I was a tiny bit unsatisfied with one resolution in the end, but this was deliberate by the author but I'm unsure why. It kinda gnaws at me. I was so on edge for much of this book.
The strangest thing was when I was worried about a plot development and thought they would miss it, but no, they anticipated it too! They even had an emergency plan "in case", yet crap still happens anyways.
My past gripes were answered and it turns out the author was just keeping me in suspense during the previous two books. I also figure Angus was/is just a bit crazy so he gets a free card to act a strange. In this book it does turn out he isn't as simple as everyone thought he was.
Both narrators are very good and I think it's great that there are two. You'd think that they would narrate at the same with each doing the appropriate gender voice, but I guess they must have tested that and maybe it sounds funny. Like other books with two narrators, each takes over the whole chapter when it's either Axl or Vivian. Luckily it doesn't happen too often that Patrik Lawlor has to do female voices, particularly when you know there is a good female narrator available who could have just spoken the female lines. He was a bit over excited at the start, but I guess so was Axl.
I'm really glad there is more coming in this series, I hope it never ends.
"Its just smut"
No, There is far too much emphasis on sex in the book, I am sick of hearing about his "stormy eyes" etc. I have no desire to listen any longer.
One Second After
Choose Another Book
No, I hear that it does already have one, I intend to ask for my money back.
It is zombie stuff, this really doesn't need sex to have a decent love story in the midst of all of this
"not my favorite of the series...but entertaining "
so much of the story focuses on Vivian's time at a casino. it felt like an entire book about one day. also, it was nice to have a male narrator, but the narrator chosen changed the vibe of the book quite a bit. i didn't love the book but still interested in what comes next.
I liked it, but. Axel. No offense to the speaker, but it just didn't match her version she's been giving or his personality. He sounded so aggressive, like he's spitting out the words. I'm from Alabama, I know rednecks lol, Axel's & Angus's. They're not all aggressive and talk fast. Although the misuse of contractions was right, southerners don't hit every sound on a word and the o sound ow, like no is naw, could is cu-ed. Axel came across as smart and level headed, he would be a slow southern talker. The voice ruined it for me. Even when talking about her he couldn't stop aggressively spitting out the words like he's trying to hurry and her them out.
