I've done some stupid things in my time. I've been reckless. I've broken a few rules. But never before have I ruined so many lives or left such a trail of destruction behind me.
As Max would be the first to admit, she's never been one for rules. They tend to happen to other people. But this time she's gone too far, and everyone is paying the price. Grounded until the end of time, how can she ever put things right?

This is a great series. This is the latest one and does not disappoint. I love all of the characters and their interactions. A great story that keeps you listening. They can be listened to as stand alone books, but listening in order is even better as it's great to see how they all move on and develop. I really hope there will be more.
Clever, witty, funny, excellently narrated Zara Ramm adds so much to an already good series, Totally believable characters very easy to listen to . The ending had an unexpected twist . Soooo hope there are more books to come in this series.
Tying in the earlier characters and developing the relationships at St Mary's.
The previous six books so probably best to read them in order so as to better appreciate the nuances of past history and interplay between the characters e.g. knowing who "bitchface" is without the need for lots of explanation.1. Just one damned thing after another 2.A symphony of echoes 3.A second chance 4.A trail through time 5.No time like the past 6. What could possibly go wrong? and then this one
Don't want to spoil the plot, but when the time police made an appearance and Max took over it typified the chirpy and confident approach of the main protagonist.
This is not the end for Max as there is another full length novel due soon and several short stories featuring main characters as well as some for ensemble cast.
This series had such promise but seemed to run out of steam after the first few books. I have stuck with it but to be honest it feels like the same thing over and over again. The writing is good and the humour is great but there seems to be little direction over the series and no bigger plot. Without spoiling the events of the last few chapters this seems to be tagged on almost like an after thought. Shame as I had such high hopes after reading the first book.
It all started when Audible offered me a short story to listen too. My love of all things St Marys grew from that little kindness and now I await each book with bated beeath. This book did not disappoint at all. Once again our characters find themselves doing exactly what we would expect for all the reasons right or wrong. My desire now is to jump into a pod and go forward in time to where there are 4 more books to read/hear. And the world went white
I love this series of books. All the old much loved characters are here in their usual peril . Really enjoyed. Sad to finish as it means I have ages to wait for the next one.
'The other cat!'
Yet another enjoyable romp through time with the characters from St Mary's. This time Max is working towards her maternity leave but does this stop her? No!
Still breaking all the rules Max heads out on a quest to save St Mary's from the disasters consequences of a good deed, or what some thought of as a good deed!
Jodi Taylor continues to write a series that is both engaging and full of fun.
It is exceedingly hard to review this without giving too much away, but suffice to say if you have enjoyed any of the series to this point you'll love this! And if you haven't... well go to back to book one and look forward to a treat.
This was possibly the most terrifying book in the series. It one this to be flung into the world of dinosaurs and left for dead or to be chased up and down the timeline by Time Police, but to risk the lives of so many people, including an unborn child had me stop a few times.
Taylor has outdone herself this time.
I don't want to say too much for fear of spoilers but can I just say that the Time Police have never been a welcome sight, until now.
I am keen to know what happens to the other Leon, that threat still scares me, and what will happen to Clive Ronan? It is a cliffhanger that I am both keen to find the answer to as well as dread to pursue...
Zara Ramm was fabulous as ever. I cannot imagine any of the stories without her voice in my head.
"Why do her books have to end????"
I truly feel so immersed in St. Mary's world that when the books are over I feel I have been shoved out of a Pod into a strange time/place and all I want to do is yell DOOR, fall back in, say 'Initiate Jump ".. And let the world go white.
Honestly, I am a constant Audible book listener 24/7 365 and when I see a St Mary's book come up on the pre order list, I am practically hopping on one foot until the moment it becomes available. I might actually have yelled at my phone to HURRY UP (but as there are no witnesses except my dog, I will deny it).
In other words, I strongly recommend this series. The characters, world building and plot are all exemplary.

"Surviving History One Jump At A Time."
This installment had lots more close calls, a shifting of power and as usual tons of tea drinking. While our trio of Max, Petersen and Markham have had better days, we know they will make it right somehow in that St. Mary's fashion. The ending is a WALLOP and I can't wait for the next installment.
I thank Jodi Taylor for creating these characters but Zara Ramm brings them to life. She's added tenderness, charm and humor to Max and the rest of the gang at St. Mary's. Ms. Ramm is perfect.
My anxiety levels flew with the last few chapters but in good St. Mary’s style at the end I had a good laugh.
It's always a privilege and an honor to follow the gang at St. Mary's on a new adventure. Then enjoy the entire series from the beginning because Max's insights to weight gain, tea drinking and finally married life are not to be missed.
Wanted to stretch out this new book as long as possible but couldn't stop listening and laughing.
"I love this combination!"
Jodi Taylor and Zara Ramm are the perfect paring in this romping historical/ science fiction/ mystery/thriller/ romance series. Great fun. And history lessons to boot! What's not to love.
"Yet another amazing story from Jodi Taylor!"
I'll keep it short. Max causes her same mischief and gets out of it spectacularly! A few tears and a satisfying ending!
By far my favorite series!
"Wishing you give a review 6 Stars"
Funny, bawdy and full of sarcasm. Jodi Taylor’s writing, Zara Ramm narration and typical St. Mary's antics do not disappoint. Max leads her merry band of misfits through time like a proverbial bull through a china shop. All my favorite characters are here, Markham and Peterson and some new faces. The only thing that I can say I disliked is that it was over way too soon.
If you ever want to introduce a friend to audible, a sure fire way to win them over is to provide them a gift written by Jodi Taylor.
"Excellent, as always!"
Couldn't put it down. I am continually impressed with Taylor's ability to create new situations and develop characters even further.
"OMG each book is better that the last one"
This book was awesome ! So many twist and turns. You cannot put it down !! Go Max!
"Liked this one the least"
I love this series and pre-order every book since discovering Jodi Taylor. In fact I own all of her books and they are gems. However this one was a let down in the overall scheme of things. The humor was minimal, the narration didn't quite sound the same and it just seemed off.
"Bite my nails in suspense or pee my pants laughing"
I have read and or listened to all of Ms. Taylors St. Mary's books and I really prefer listening to Zara Ramm bring Max to life! Her skills are amazing and I feel through her voice acting, I get to hear and experience life at St. Mary's
Um... the tumbler equation was well...so Max!!!! Ms. Taylor really puts a visual of the coronation and the subsequent actions of the queen into the readers mind and paints a picture with her words that brings "history" to life.
She has a very pleasing voice that builds the action seemingly without effort and delivers the humor so dead pan it is amazingly perfect.
We're St. Mary's. Our pods smell like cabbage, we love our tea, and we never leave anyone behind.
I can't imagine how difficult it would be for a writer to keep her characters fresh, funny, and yet so true to form. The St Mary's books are very well written full of mischief, suspense, humor and great relationships.
