Summary

From the drug gangs of downtown Indianapolis, the one true King will arise. The King Arthur myth gets dramatically replayed through the destiny of street hustler King, as he tries to unite the crack dealers, gangbangers, and the very real monsters lurking amongst them, to do the right thing. This is an edgy, fantastical debut, genuinely unlike anything you've ever read before.

Just not my bag

I love urban fantasy, I love epics and I especially love retellings of arthur. I found this to be just too dark. Didn't identify with any of the characters, found it lacked much pace. The narrator read it well, but the culture is so alien to me - and I wasn't sure if the characters and their goals were something we should root for or not. The author appeared to praise certain aspects and even physical traits- I've never felt alienated by a book before, regardless of what culture the writer is from/writing for, but this left me cold, bored and uninterested.
Eventually stopped listening.
