The Road to Hell is Paved with Bad Intentions. Get ready for Keys to the Coven, a witty, tightly plotted, (adult) urban-fantasy/romance set in an original universe where karma is power, sex is karma, and it's not who you know but whose soul you own that matters.*
To become a demon, you must die in complete and utter despair. Three hundred years ago, Max passed that test with flying colors and joined the afterlife resolving never again to have innocent blood on his hands. Now Max has been given the job of breaking a young witch's family curse. But what she doesn't know, what Max can't bring himself to tell her, is that completing his mission almost certainly means her death.
When Felicity Woodsen inherits her mother's coven, she learns each firstborn Woodsen daughter must become the consort of an evil-arch demon. Felicity's only hope is to ally with the mysteriously charming Max. But is saving her body from one demon worth risking her soul with another?
Roxashael became a demon when his Roman captors sent his family, one by one to be devoured by lions. The lesson was clear: power is good; lots of power is better. Two-thousand years later, Rocky has power. He's purchased hundreds of souls, and he's created the Minsk Homunculus, a magic artifact that, by binding a human witch as his consort, turns him into an arch-demon and places him above the goody-two-shoes laws of karma.
Unfortunately, Rocky made a mistake. He fell in love with Felicity's mother and in a moment of weakness promised to give up his demon-consort charm. Now Felicity's mother is dead, the Minsk Homunculus is slated for destruction, and Rocky's power as an arch-demon is about to end.
No demon can break a promise. If Rocky refuses to give up the Minsk Homunculus, he'll become the lowest, most abject slave in Hell. But then, why break promises when they're so easy to corrupt?
**Caution: This book contains violence, strong sexual themes, moderately explicit sex between consenting adults, (unfulfilled) threats against children, and one completely gratuitous reference to unicorns.

I love almost anything post-apocalyptic, zombie, scifi, ect. Always looking for some new earhole entertainment!
Have you ever read a book and wished it were true? Well, parts of it anyways lol. The life of a demon doesn't sound too bad in this book! Lots of sex and sex gets you karma. Wow! Excellent erotic love story with witches and demons. Both narrators did an excellent job. I love how it switches perspective from Max to Felicity. Definitely looking forward to book 2!
There was a lot to like in this novel. The characters of Max and Felicity were likable and their love story was interesting. I liked the "Holy Bowlers" and that the witch's coven of the novel was based in a bowling alley. I liked Felicity's battle with the powers of darkness, to save her potential heirs from being molested as she was.
The dark humor of Keys to the Coven reminds me of Steven Brust's Vlad Taltos books. The family of witches battling supernatural forces reminds me of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series, but Loebel's book is definitely more light-hearted and breezy romance.
My favorite scene was when Max and Felicity visit the bar at the bowling alley coven in Falstaff, Arizona. The scene reminded me of Tim Burton movies like Beetlejuice and Corpse Bride.
The book did make me laugh, but I was surprised at how much it kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how Max or Felicity would get out of a bad spot.
Although the book had numerous spots of humor, I was surprised how violent and tense it was at parts. Overall it worked, and I enjoyed the book. However, I would have liked to have seen a little more of the humor.
"It's Got Karma!"
Keys to the Coven was quirky, entertaining, and fun to listen too!
Vickey did a great job of developing a different spin on demons, and angels, and how they gain and use "karma." It really was unlike any paranormal/fantasy I've listened to which was refreshing. I loved how each chapter started off by giving tips from the " Girls Guide to Demons."
Kudos to Emily Beresford and Nick Podehl! They did an awesome job narrating the story, and gave each character their own voice and projected the right amount of emotion. They really made this an entertaining story to listen to.

"Stick the Iron in the Fire and Brand Me a Fan"
What a great start. I really look forward to listening to more writing by Vicky Loebel. "Keys to the Coven" bowls strike after strike on the way to a perfect game. The characters are flawed, interesting and engaging. They are solid, well-developed, and vibrantly described while maintaining their own personal areas of mystery and leaving plenty of room for future growth. The narration was great and I'm a real fan of using two (male and female) narrators. I don't want to reveal my favourite scenes because I would hate to spoil this book in any way for anyone.
I will mention two things. First, I hesitated purchasing this novel because of the strong over 18 warning but honestly I didn't think the story was that raw. There were some intimate scenes but I found them completely in keeping with the story line and never gratuitous. Second, the last hour, hour and a half, of the book are really action packed, so I would strongly recommend saving the end of the book for a quiet time because you don't want to be interrupted or distracted while listening to it.
Looking forward to the next one!
"Very Unique and Engaging Story!"
The story flew by! I felt like it was only a few hours of listening instead of almost 13 hours. The characters were well developed and interesting.
The narration was great and it brought the story to life. I really enjoy having both a male and a female narrator. It really works out better having both.
The last couple of hours are pretty intense so make sure you have time to listen without being interrupted.
Each chapter starts off with a quote from "Girl's Guide to Demons". The story is very entertaining. I did find myself enjoying the humor! This book deals with Demons and Witches but the take on them are quite unique.
Felicity doesn't know much about her mother and her dealings with demons. Max comes to retrieve a special object that turns out to be very important to Felicity's future and the future of her family.
The conclusion is totally unexpected and I really love it!!! I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **
I was hooked in the first hour and did not want to put this down! I like a good witch book, and this had witches and demons...so plus plus!! Felicity goes to settle her mothers estate after her passing, not knowing there was more then meets the eye going on there. Turns out her mother had deep dealings with the underworld and Felicity's soul has been sold to a demon names Max...now Max is not a bad guy, and as she gets to know his, a romance blooms, and a bunch of things unfold..Felicity has been in the dark about her family for a long time, but evil always shows itself!
REALLY GREAT STORY, AND FUNNY BOOK! I RECOMMEND!
"An Engaging Urban Fantasy & Romance Novel"
Author Vicky Loebel gives us familiar creatures like angels, demons and witches then puts a surprisingly original spin on them and the magic that’s used in her novel. “Keys To The Coven” is an uncommonly good book that fits into a couple of genres but rises above their traditional formulas. It has a complexity of plot and a good balance between the action, romance and magic system.
I was not aware of Vicky Loebel before I came across this book. It caught my attention because the author used two narrators, which, as you would expect, is more costly and because I am familiar with Nick Podehl’s work. I think he is one of the top narrators working in audio books and whenever I come across one of his narrations I tend to give that book more consideration. I wasn’t familiar with Emily Beresford’s work, but I found her to be just as top notch. Both narrators combined for a wonderful job in bringing an added dimension to Ms. Loebel’s work.
Give “Keys To The Coven” a try. Afterward, I think you’ll be like me pick up the next book in the series. Finally, this audio book was provided by the author at no cost in exchange for an honest review, courtesy of Audio Book Blast.
"The Girl's Gide to Demons ♡"
That was amazing!! (｡’▽’｡)♡ I must say, at the end I was impressed with this Audiobook. Paranormal Demonic Romance with lots of humor, suspense thought, twists and turns, and dark moments. This book was deliciously written. I loved how it switched characters from Felicity to Max. The non-predictable plot, shocking at times, complicated, intriguing, and interesting bewitching characters. With all the crazy turns, I was grossly engaged in the story. Gloriously great. \(-ㅂ-)/ The moral of the story: Karma is a beatch and you never know when you have it coming! Funny how Karma works. ⊙_⊙
The hero of the story is a demon who ends up making a deal with a witch. Max would come up with remarks through the story that would make me laugh. I finally understood how Max had become a demon. That was unexpected! Felt bad for such an honest guy to be doing evil deeds. Didn't get to find out the "why" if he had to be willing. (My one negative of two). Maybe I have to go at it again. Anyways, Max meets a woman named Felicity, who had gone to her mother's house to take care of her estate along with her sister and brother. She happens to be the daughter of a powerful witch whom he had made a bargain with.
The heroine, Felicity, was a real fighter. Always trying to keep promises, putting others above Her. Having to deal with acceptance, and denials and responsibility over things out of her control or hard to believe. Loved Her character. And her sister Kate. In fact, loved every character! Even the cat (~_^)
The villain of the story was a creepy, scheming sicko named Roxashael (Rocky). who was quite the villain. He tormented from an early age the females in the family. With the exception of Rose; Felicity's Mom; whom he seemed to be the only one he ever truly loved. Rose; who knew what awaited her daughters, chose to protect them over her love for "Rocky" the twisted evil bastard. Then, the tender moments threw me off. Their love so strong... But a Demon obsessed with power and sickening traditions will always have Karma come kick you in the rear! Wish I could tell you the ending! I could NEVER have imagined it!
My only disappointment is the point in the story where Rocky has tricked Max. Being at Roxashael's mercy unable to heal, he later shows up. (My second negative). That part could have been extended. I wish I could comment more about it: but I'm afraid I may give something away. Don't want to spoil it.
Overall, this story will take you on a wild humorous ride. I highly recommend the audio book. The narrators were clear, full of emotions and gave each character their own personality. I seriously will need to go on audible for PC and do a proper rating for narrators as well. This has been for me a perfect 5. I'm not counting my two negatives. I'm rating it as a reader who kept going from suspense to giggling and recommending it. I am seriously looking forward to works by Vicky Loebel and narrators Emily Beresford, and Nick Podehl. (All saved). Will be looking them up as well as "The Demonic Intervention Series". I wanted to take my time on this review. In the end, I don't want to spoil it. It's one of "those" books you must have in all versions. You really have no idea how much I have enjoyed this Audiobook. (๑♡∀♡๑)

"Long story and a little confusing but OK"
This was the longest audiobook I have listened to so far and i wished it was a little easier to follow. There was so much information thrown at me it was hard to understand why the characters were doing what they were doing and what they were trying to accomplish.
That being said, the writing was witty and the narrators did a commendable job portraying the many characters. I did find myself wishing that there was only one narrator for the entire book as it was a bit difficult to switch my thought process from a male to female voice or vice versa as I was trying to understand the material.
"12 Hours Long"
I actually listened to the entire story. Itnwas long and took me two days to get through it. There were some times when I wanted to snatch my headphones off and say forget it. But I wanted to know what happened to Max. He was very good throughout the book and it was nice to know that it was okay for the hero to admit that he was hurt or did not have all of the answers. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via audiobook boom. The narration was good an helped move the story along. the girl's guide to deomons was truly funny. That baby brother was truly something else. Each of his actions were always not his fault. Typical.
"Flew through it"
This was a wonderfully entertaining read. I really enjoyed the wry sarcastic humor. The story and the characters are well-developed and written. I especially loved Max. And I got to say I loved the end. Just wonderful. This one is a must read for urban fantasy fans.
Nick Podehl is a top-notch narrator, as always his performance was wonderful. Emily Beresford also gave an amazing performance. Together they made this book wonderful to listen to.

"Keys to the Coven"
Love this story. excellent storyline with strong characters each compliment the other perfectly. Be prepared for a few surprises and a story you won't want to put down! I can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend for anyone who likes demons, witches and lots of magic
At first I didn't like the way the narration was done. But after a couple chapters I really liked it. This is the first audio I've listened to that was done with narrators taking turns with chapters. But it was perfect for this book. Both narrators were wonderful! The voices they used were consistent with their characters. They are easy to understand and made an excellent duo for the story
