The acclaimed and eagerly anticipated fourth thriller in the zombie apocalypse series from the author of Day by Day Armageddon and Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile, for fans of the smash hit show The Walking Dead.
In a desperate bid to survive as hordes of bloodthirsty undead now dominate the ravaged US population, a navy commander discovers an incredible secret about the pandemic in this fourth novel in the acclaimed Day by Day Armageddon series.
Task Force Phoenix may be humanity's final hope, and the narrator's agonizing decisions could mean living one more day - or surrendering to the eternal hell that exists between life and death.
Ghost Run is a suspenseful, gripping, and intelligent thriller that will terrify die-hard horror fans and reinforce J. L. Bourne's reputation as "the new king of hardcore zombie action" (Brad Thor, author of Act of War).

loved this book, good to get back on track with the original content and character. brilliant additions and progress in the story arch. can't wait for more.
excellent performance by Jay Snyder
I am a huge fan of the first two books in the series, and the third on was still very good. I am sorry to say that I found this boring, with the only excitement coming at the end (which was then rushed).
Narrator was top notch as ever. I'm glad the author went back to the journal style of writing, really made for a personal experience. However the book seemed lacking in places, story wise. There were slow moments that seemed unnecessary, however the other parts really give a sense of suspense. Can't wait for the next part.
Teens on a zombie kick.
The journal style was new to me in the first two books. Some of the ideas in them so different. But Shattered hourglass and this one have gone the other way. Which is a shame. So I might sample them in the future, but they'd have to offer something new and unique like in books 1 and 2.
This man is 50% of DBDA for me. Amazing talent. First came across him in Hyperion. Natural storyteller.
The more engaging aspects of the first two books were when he was alone and trying to survive. So this book is mostly more of that... but it doesn't work for me. I think it's because of another short audiobook he released which drains all the tension and constant threat from the pages.
"Back on track"
I enjoyed this novel a lot more than book three to which I gave a really bad review. It needs to be on the timeline for it to work for me. I still don't enjoy the characters name ( Kilroy) , make it feel like the author is hiding the main character from identity thief in a Zombie apocalypse? I will wait for the next novel !
Day by Day was my favorite series until I found the Arisen Series and I was excited to see a new release. I stopped a story I was listening to and excitedly started what I knew was going to be awesome; awesome never happened. I listened and waited for "it," but "it" never came. I am sorry to those who will not agree but this is from the series #1 fan and a listener who started listening to apocalyptic/zombie stories after the first three books.
"Ghost run needed some more friends"
I'm pretty bummed about this. I want so badly for the series that created my fascination in zombie survival journals to bring new life to the genre, but I'm afraid this one only made me worry. J.L. Bourne is a soldier who knows all the names for the latest survival gadgets, how a secret organization might try and take advantage of the zombie apocalypse, and how one man might use his military training and refusal to quit attitude to survive astronomical odds. Bourne again shows what he's good at, but unfortunately, this book leaves out the character interest that we had in series' first two books.
The storyline for Ghost Run puts our hero on a solitary mission to recover the cure to the zombie virus so he can make a better world for his wife and baby. While we catch his thoughts and fears about not seeing them and missing them while he's away, as well as the most character focused area in his struggle with painkiller addiction, the story was 95% run and shoot zombies. There were some tense corners that he had to escape from, but as the book rounded past the halfway point, I really became disappointed that more time wasn't put into character interaction. It was as if this book could have been a silent movie, and that's not what I was hoping for.
I listened to the audiobook version, which was pretty decent, but the narrator didn't really stand out...nor did he bring attention to himself, so if you prefer audiobooks, going this route would be fine.
If there is another book in this series I really hope we get our cast back together and make them survive together. Kil needs people to talk to.
"Not bad, older books more entertaining."
Ever hear that term from a movie, soild DVD, meaning not worth a ticket but worth a home rental/purchase. That's my feeling here.
"A good Book"
It was nice to find out that there was going to be another book released for The Day By Day series and it has not disappointed it's a real page turner. Can't way to see what is next.
"sad day for me"
I got the original dbda a month after release and waited forever4 the end. years
"Walking Dead with a Military Flair!"
Bourne's writing and aSnyder's reading are a one-two punch of thrilling entertainment! Though the premise is highly implausible, the variants are many .. and real.
"This was another great story in the series"
Jay Schneider Nails it as a narrator of this great jail born story can't wait for another one.
"Awesome book, well worth the listen!"
Love all of jl.bournes books this one was great and can't wait for the next installment. Was funny hearing the reader pronounce n-oh-ds instead of nods.
"Jay Snyder kills as Kil!"
Right on the money and worth every penny, to me Jay Snyder is Kil! His voice and the storms weathered within make you see and feel where this bad-ass is coming from and where he's going. Take a listen...
