"STILL Can't Breathe!!!"
This series has been an amazing thrill ride. Book 3 is the BEST of the series so far, and I cannot wait for the next. I listened to this book straight through and loved every second. That Fitz is still my favorite character!!
"No, Seriously. Don't Go in There!"
First off, let me say that Bronson Pinchot is perfect for this series. He does a wonderful job making each and every character voice different and his pacing is spot on.
On to the book itself. Another fantastic novel by Smith. After reading the first 2 books in the series, I had no idea how the author could top them. Well, it is safe to say that this is the best book in the series thus far. Smith has ramped up the action, suspense, romance and even a little bit of humor to keep all of his fans and yes, even the newbies, happy. I love how the story line is easy to follow and every scenario is different from the previous. Yes, Beckham is consistently charged with taking his team into the thick of it in order to perform some impossible mission, but there is always a new outcome you don't see coming. With twists and turns, violence and gore and love and hate, there is plenty to like in this series. But will you be able to catch your breath? I'll leave it to you to find out. Can't wait to read Book 4: Extinction Evolution!!!!
"Series must be read in order!"
Other than noting that Book 3 of the Extinction Cycle is the best yet and observing that the author and narrator both do a great job, Ill delay additional comments I have listened to Extinction Evolution (Book 4).
Book 5 in the series will be titled Extinction End. Amazon shows the release date for the Kindle version as February 29 (in three weeks). Audible does not list the audiobook yet, but I am aware that the audiobook is scheduled to be released on March 15, 2016, so Audible will have it up on their website soon.
Meanwhile Super Bowl 50 is tomorrow and I plan to watch my hometown Carolina Panthers celebrate their upcoming victory over the Denver Broncos!
"Outstanding series by talented author!"
Nicholas Sansbury Smith is a gifted author . I have thoroughly enjoyed his Extinction series. His sense of story pacing is outstanding. There are no sections you are tempted to skip even though you can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.
The characters are well developed. The heroes are human and honorable. You can't help but like and admire them. You can hardly wait to see the villains reap what they have sown.
I spent my weekend listening to this series. The narrator is outstanding. I could not stop listening. I so wanted to hear what the author would write next. I have also bought this series in Kindle so I can read again . Needless to say I am looking forward to his next book
"Fantastic third book in this great series!"
I couldnt put this book down and hope they release further books in the series. Writing style, narration and story are all fantastic. Would make a very good film or game! Thankyou
"Just needed a punch"
As soon as I met this one character, I just wanted him to get a punch in the face. You'll know exactly who I mean immediately too.
Very good story and satisfying ending. A lot of action and fighting with a lot of depth to the story. Narrator was great.
"Best of the series!"
The author portayl of all characters and situations and also the enthusiasm the book is read with. Made for a gripping story full of emotion and action!
Comparable in action to World War Z...This was my favorite book...However Extinction Horizon series blows this book out of the water!
No but it had my heart racing!
This is an absolutely outstanding book! I recommend to everyone, The author is amazing and the tale is great! Lots of action!
"Can't Wait for The Next Book"
Beckett is about to explode - so many twists and turns! Fast paced action keeps you on your toes. Each time Becket goes out there is trouble. Can they keep everyone safe without losing any more people? Has Kate found the cure? Suspense - action - action and great plot!
"When I grow up I want to be on team Ghost!"
.....nope want next book.
The Arisen Series...and maybe Surviving the Dead is a close second.
He's good loved Dead Six..
Knowing I am close to the end and not another book until fall!! SUCKS ! I want the next book.
Breckham is god..
"Starts off with a bang and keeps going"
The start of this book was crazy! Seriously, I don't want to give too much away, but holy cow. I wasn't sure how Smith was going to get the Delta Force soldiers out of the predicament they got themselves into.
The human element of this book was really well done. There was a lot of emotion attached to Extinction Age -- more than the second book had. The soldiers have more of a heart and realize that the people that they can't save are going to be torn apart in ruthless and unimaginable ways.
The story in Age was a good combination of military fiction and post-apocalyptic fiction with a little bit of bio-thriller thrown in. The combination of these different genres really made Extinction Age feel the same but different in this series. (I feel weird writing that, but it makes sense in my head).
The story ends on a cliffhanger and I know how many more books Smith has written. I definitely need a mini-break from these intense stories, but I'm sure I'll continue the series. I also want to check out more of the Kindle Worlds books that revolve around these stories (and I'm sure I'll understand them a lot better now).
Overall, Extinction Age (and the first three books in the Extinction Cycle series) was very good. I enjoyed them from beginning to end, and I'm definitely glad that I read them.
