Compelled to return to his native land, Ivan finds the clearing just as he left it. But this time he does not run-this time he awakens the beauty with a kiss and steps into a world that vanished a thousand years ago. A rich tapestry of clashing worlds and cultures, Enchantment is a powerfully original novel of love and destiny that transcends centuries.

Boring!!! Unimaginative, dull, annoying. This is a random and entirely unimaginative use of characters from Russian mythology combined with a totally unimaginative use of the worn out scheme: "characters coming from past/fairytale to our world". Combined with banal language and banal love story. Not worth your money.
"Get the unabridged!"
The narrator is great here, but the actual abridgement is clumbsy and confusing. Key events are referred to, but the event itself (e.g. the folk story of the man who couldn't marry because he was already married to another) is cut.
I love this story, book and audiobook. This abridgement, however is a painful and detracting cutting. I believe a good abridgement could be made, but this is not it.
"Avoid this Version"
This version is anything but enchanting! Unless, of course, the reader has the power of discernment to make sense of the cavernous gaps. I would discourage anyone from buying this version. Wait until the unabridged version is available. This is simply not worth the time and money.
