'There's no end to the horror in this place - it's like Hell, and there are devils round every corner.'
On Leisure Platform 9 gamblers and villains mix with socialites and celebrities. It's a place where you won't want to win the wrong game. With Rory kidnapped by a brutal crime lord, the Doctor and Amy infiltrate a deadly contest where fugitives become the hunted. But how long before they realise the Doctor isn't a vicious mercenary and discover what Amy is up to? It's a game that can only end in death, and time for everyone is running out.
Read by Arthur Darvill, Hunter's Moon features the Doctor, Amy and Rory, as played by Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill in the spectacular hit series from BBC Television.

I really enjoyed this title, I would love to see it brought to life on the big screen, and I simply adore the sound of Arthur Darvill for me he captures the essence of this period of Doctor Who
"Well done Doctor Adventure"
Hold up though. This series has been going on for so long in other incarnations that I can't honestly say this was good enough.
Darvill portrayed the characters very well in this but the story is a middle of the road thing. Not really bad, but nothing I care about either.
If you have an extra credit and have nothing else your considering or saving for I'd say get this as it is a worthwhile adventure for the price, but there are plenty of better Doctor Who things you could spend that 17 dollars on otherwise, like a few episodes of the show instead.
"Absolutely the best"
I think I've found the best Doctor Who book out there. There are average ones, good ones, and really good ones, but Hunter's Moon is phenomenal. Arthur Darvill is one of the best narrators on Audible, to the point you forget its even Rory's voice. He masters the Doctor's running explanations second only to Matt Smith himself, the lilting tone of Amy's biting comments, and distinct accents for each of the other characters.
Some of the names get a bit confusing, because I think they all start with Z, but I enjoy listening to these books as it saves me the trouble of trying to pronounce them myself.
I couldn't put this story down (figuratively) and after listening to the first two hours over the course of a few days, I listened to the rest of it in one large chunk. Much like the episodes, it grabs you right away and you just have to find out how they get out of their predicament and all come back together right at the end.
I picked up this story because I love the sound of Arthur Darvill's voice and I needed one more book to get the April listening rewards. It is so worth the $13. If you never read another Doctor Who story, read this one. It is by far the best.
"Loads of exciting action"
This story kept me on the hook to see what happens next. Paul Finch outperforms.
"A fantastic read"
What a book. It is one ofmy favorites. I like it. As the doctor says gronamo
Loved the story read by Arthur Darvile one of my favorites wish Karen Gillian and Billie Piper would read a doctor who book
"Doctor Who stories are the best"
I have been listening to Doctor Who books while waiting for the new series to start in a year from now 😓. This book was awesome and sucked my back in time to the 11th Doctor. Arthur Darvill was excellent at the narration and sounded sexy which makes me miss his character Rory in the show even more. The description in this book was excellent and I could easily picture the actors Karen Gillian, Arthur Darvill and Matt Smith acting out this book in my head. Highly recommend this book if you are missing Doctor Who while it's on hiatus.
The story Hunter's Moon read by Arthur Darvill was very very interesting. I found that the story was captivating, Arthur's reading of the story was outstanding especially when he imitated Matt Smith. I wish the story actually was filmed with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan because I believe it would be an awesome story to see on the screen. I only have one question and it's not going to change my rating of the story but I didn't notice that while listening the chapters did not go in sequential order. I found that chapter skipped for example 39 would go straight to chapter 41 no chapter 40. I'm not sure if this is custom for all of all of those books but I did notice that and being this my first book to listen to this is not a slam or put down either the author the narrator or the story is a question that I have for audible. If you do like Dr who this is a great story to listen to it will keep you in suspense the whole way through.
"My favorite Doctor Who to date"
Bit more violent and grim then the TV show, but it's engaging and true to the characters.
Enjoyed how each of the main characters have an opportunity to shine and rise to the occasion to save themselves and others.
Arthur Darvill does a fabulous job, his creative range with character voices and accents is impressive.
Boring. This one is full of story elements that are predictable, and out-of-date. Humans being hunted for sport, check. Amy in tight clothing, check. Winning streak in gambling then losing it all, check. etc, etc. No I didn't finish the book, as much as I like finishing things. Two chapters left, and I just cannot stand listening to another bit.
"an adventure that should have been a script"
really this would have been an amazing episode. loved it,. loved the details in the story
