A brand new, audio edition of an exciting story about the First Doctor, launched as part of a year-long series to celebrate Doctor Who's 50th anniversary. The series brings together some of the most exciting names in children's fiction, each putting their own unique spin on the Doctor, his terrifying alien enemies and time-travelling adventures.

I like it a lot,it's a modern adventure for the 1st doctor and Susan, set in Victorian London,Story was interesting and fresh, more of a modern feel.
When the doctor escapes the Soul Pirates ship he use's the tractor beam to land. The doctor and his party are plummeting to London,he hope that he's calculations are right, because he's only using a single shoot from the tractor bean to land.
my favorite scene was the ending, when the doctor feels helpless and stuck, and he's on the soul pirates ship, and feeling doom.but like the doctor,he'll take a risk and find a way
I listen to the book over two days,i wanted to do it in one sitting, but i was reading it on my way to work.made the journey more enjoyable.
50th Anniversary Series,it's a good story and Nicholas Briggs Narrate it well.
"The First Doctor"
This story is part of a collection of stories commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the tv series. There is one new short story for each of the Doctors. I was excited that two of my favorite authors Eoin Colfer and Derek Landry contributed to the series and they did not disappoint. Eoin Colfer wrote an adventure for the first Doctor that of course captured the feel of the original show but also added several twists of his own. The Doctor's interactions with the other characters are filled with Colfer's trademark humor, but he serves up some particularly satisfying plot twists at the end.
For fans of Colfer's Artemis Fowl series, there's also a moment when the Doctor says something that made me believe that the Doctor may have visited Artemis' universe in the past. It's a blink and you'll miss it moment that made me happy the app has a "replay" button since I had to listen again to make sure (grin.)
"alright at best"
its a monster of the week story. i guess if your a HUGE fan of the first doctor you may enjoy it. but after hearing the final 4 stories from this collection its really not that good. perhaps i was just expecting more from the author as its not a bad story.... just forgettable
