Nathan has been a prepper all his life - but just how prepared can one man be when faced with a 2,000-mile walk through hell itself?
In the second installment of Thomas A. Watson's explosive prepper classic, the long-predicted Coronal Mass Ejection has arrived, destroying civilization. Nathan Owens has been prepping for a disaster like this for years.
But when it occurs, he is far from his family and his refuge. He has to pull together a team of young survivalists and, as he reluctantly leads them across the hellscape of what was once the United States, Nathan has to ask himself - what else is he willing to do for them?
In the midst of this treacherous journey, Nathan discovers that crucial information has been withheld from the public - and maybe Armageddon wasn't an accident of nature after all. But how can he prove it - before it's too late?

"One of.the best series I have listened to......."
I have listened to over 100 audio books almost all dystopian works. This series has to be the best I've come across.
The main character is excellent......unlike so many wimpy lead characters in other series. A John Wayne persona.......I can't wait for the next episode!
a superb writing style...,...
"Don't waste the time"
I read the first book, and did like it much. Against my better judgment I decided to read the second book because I already knew the characters and I'm an optimist. The reasons for the actions of the government takes are ridiculous. The character of Nathan is also unbelievable, he is part nurse, part cop, and part swat team. The idea that the children could have become the force that they supposedly haveis also ridiculous.
"Great characters and story!"
The world needs more people like our main character, Nathan. I'm looking forward to book 2!
Really you change the narrator I don't understand why authors can't keep the original narrator you were in the whole book or series by changing the narrators thank you
"Author is getting better with each book!"
Series just got better! Hard to say which series I enjoy Forgotten Forbidden American is also a great listen! Love the Dogs in both of them!
"Looking forward to the next book"
I'm enjoying this series. I like the characters and that it doesn't rush through the journey. I read a few reviews that admonished the lead character (Nathan) for ogling his 19 year old traveling companion, but frankly, it's realistic. Jasmine is portrayed as a beautiful woman who doesn't have an issue with parading around in next to nothing and Nathan is a man with a decent set of eyes. I get the age difference thing, but I imagine in a post apocalyptic event, your standards rapidly change. Jasmine is a strong, genuine, realistic character that would undoubtedly be attractive to Nathan for more than just her age and beauty. Anyway, I really like that Nathan seems to keep picking up orphans along the way. It softens his otherwise very rigid independent personality. It also lends to the author taking humorous turns at just the right moments.
The story blends character development, action and EOTWAWKI descriptiveness extremely well and I really look forward to seeing how far this group gets in the next book.
What a wonderful story. We all need a Nathan. Excellent narration. I can't wait for Dark Titans 3
"it's a must read type book."
I enjoyed every part of this book. It's got drama, comedy, possible love story in the works, great for dog lovers and some strategy to remember if ever needed.
I have been waiting for book 2 of this series to come out for more than a Year! I love this series and it was this series that got me hooked on this author. I ended up having to buy books 2 and 3 in the kindle edition when they did not come out in audio. I used to love to read, but problems with my diabetes has made reading very difficult for me, so I've switched to audio.
I.have loved watching this author mature and grow with each new book he writes. I enjoy his stories and the personalities of his characters. I can hardly wait until book 3 comes out in audio. Does anyone know when it will be out?
"Kind of sick."
Author keeps dwelling chapter after chapter on underage girls wearing very little clothing that turns on the main character. Gets old fast. Also way too much time on baby care and annoying baby sounds.
