If you'd asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders - the Adept - was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it. That's what 23 years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you - a completely skewed sense of reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled...except for the cupcake part. That's a universal truth.

"sweet creamy story "
Loved the way the book is written. I could smell and taste every deatil. Will continue read the next book. amusing and funny book.
My favorite narrator , has introduced me to a great author!
Great fast paced tale with chocolate, dancing magic and more
"Voice compliments the character delightfully"
This is the first book in one of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors, and the narration gave me new insight into Jade. I really loved hearing Meghan's vision of Jade instead of just reading it, and I look forward to listening to the other audiobooks. Hopefully Rochelle's intertwining story will be translated to audiobook soon as well!
"Sweet treat for mystery fans"
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I've never read the author's work before and got the ebook as a free offer and decided to add the audio book just for giggles. The trinkets were a neat little twist. The main character is a bit clueless at times although she admits that which is interesting. Fairly good narration although I got a little stuck at the over pronunciation of some words such as 'didn't,' it made the story "stutter".
"Delicious and magical"
I loved that it is based in Canada =)
I also loved the cupcakes ... I love cupcakes and the names are so fun and creative
Yes and no
I loved how precise she read and her punctuation was bang on except her male characters, they came off sounding slow and dim witted
"Cute start to a series"
Normal stuff, vamps, weres, witches... Nothing special but fun. Looking forward to the next in the series.
"Great story and narrator isn't as bad as others say"
I read the reviews for this book and quite a few are saying that the narrator has trouble pronouncing her words. Yet no one mentioned that the book is based in Vancouver and the narrator has a Canadian accent. I didn't have a problem with the narrator, she's a lot better then some I've listened too, I'd give her a B-.
The story itself is fun and entertaining. Love the characters and storyline, only issue for me was that I picked the bad guy from the start. But I also listen/read a lot of mystery and suspense novels and this isn't in that genre (I don't think). Overall well worth a credit and I highly recommend for a fun read.
"Fun and well written"
I quite enjoyed this book and narration, though I do wish the narrator would enunciated her "t"s and be a bit less sing-song.
"How the performance can ruin a fun book"
The narrator was terrible. She has no idea how to read a sentence fluently. She stopped midsentence as though the next word was in a different sentence when it wasn't. Maddening.
