"Good story ruined by a crap narrator. Again."

Loved the book, shame it had to end, but baffled as to why Oxer was used again. Found myself groaning and covering my ears every time she comes on. When you switch narrators at least ask that they learn the pronociations of names etc from the previous books, and can pronounce the words, domestic and foreign, required. Perhaps the recording of this book was rushed and not checked properly for mistakes, who knows.

Loved it, such an amazing journey.... make sure you have tissues handy. I think I felt nearly even human emotion at some point... just... you have to read these books.

    "Tedious narration"

It took me so long to complete this because like with the other book I couldn't get on with the narration. Not quite so bad as the last book but the female narrator is over-dramatic and breathy. Really disappointing as unlike with other books I wouldn't be able to listen to this over and over.

    "Love these books"

This whole series is fantastic. Yes the narration is really not the best in any of the books but I guess I was able to overlook it because I love the stories 🙂

"One of the best series I have read."

This book, the finale of the epic saga, had me laughing, crying, shouting and grinning. I now don't know what to do with myself now it's over!
The narrators were fantastic and I cannot fault it!

    "Love this book"
Would you listen to City of Heavenly Fire again? Why?

Anytime. I enjoy the story- all Mortal Instrument stories. It's perfect for listening while driving or just enjoying a nice long walk.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Magnus. He's fun to listen to :)

Which character – as performed by Grant Cartwright and Eloise Oxer – was your favourite?

    Clary.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Most of the time it made me smile- especially Magnuse's comments when his cat was involved.

    Any additional comments?

Grant Cartwright's voice and interpretation took a bit of getting used to for me.

    "Remarkably beautiful and bbitter sweet."

Anything I write does not do justice to the months spent reading the world Cassandra has created through the inferno devices and Immortal instruments. I never knew what to expect when pressing the play button on Clockwork Angel and again for City of Bones. Completely blown away and pleasantly surprised each time. A huge bar has been set and it’ll be difficult to find a new series that can measure up. I’ll miss the Harendales, Lightwoods, Fairchilds, Simon and Magness plus the many who played a part in such an stunning read…, well definitely not Sebastian. That dude creeps me out and gave me nightmares. For every truly good comes the deeply evil. It’s kinda sad and bitter sweet to say goodbye. Goes to show how great of an author Cassandra is to create such characters yu come to love, hate and be irritated by. I laughed, cried, nearly punched the player and cheered over and over. Brilliant night time reading! Looking forwad to Emma’s story in the upcoming series The Dark Artifices. Yeah!!!
