Turned at the cusp of a promising career in the adult movie industry, Cherry Stem has to rely on her mesmerizing vampire gaze for her meals and money. With the rent deadline approaching, settling for pocket change isn't an option, so she reluctantly lets tall, dark, and handsome Detective Alex Marsden take her home for the night and fulfill her needs.
Only she gets more than she bargained for.
When Cherry meets Alex, she expects him to be nothing more than another "girl meets boy, girl feeds from boy, girl erases boy's memories" hook-up. Once missing young women, the vampire council, and her irresistible ex are thrown into the mix though, she realizes nothing is as simple or random as she thought it was.
And her unlife isn't the only thing at stake.

This one is pretty good. I love that it is a series because I can't get enough of Cherries crazy world.
I just mostly liked following along Cherry's life. I mean who ever thought to make an ex video porn girl into a vampire. I say this was brilliant on the author's part. She gave us the listeners a very new and different vampire story line to be entertainer with. Cherry has a funny smarty mouth, hot sex scenes and a true love. I thought the story was fast paced and interesting. I hope the author and the narrator keep going with this series. They both did a great job of entering us the listeners. 2 thumbs up.
Cherry of course. Wendy King is a very talented narrator so when I had a chance to listen to something new and different that she had narrated I jumped on it. She has this way of bringing that funny smarty mouth to life in Cherry Stem.
A day in the life of Cherry Stem.

OMG THIS WAS FABULOUS!!! I love a good vamp series and I have definitely found one!!!
Cherry is a newly turned vamp of 6yrs...and she kind of hangs out at bars and nightclubs to feed and we will say get some male attention...lol She then wipes there mind and they just think they had a sexy night! She is out one night and meets Alex...he is a cop and she is super attracted to him...she goes home with him and after a case of mistaken identity..lol They have a great night together, Cherry accidentally falls asleep, and then almost gets fried by the sun..lol She has A LOT of explaining to do after this....Well Alex has been on a case where young women are disappearing and Cherry just so happens to be part of that without her knowledge..and it all takes off from there...This book also has quite a bit of sexy time...SO ENJOY!!!
100% RECOMMEND AND I AM MOVING ON TO #2 NOW!!!!
"Intriguing new vampire series"
Cherry Stem is a refreshing addition to the PNR genre. I am highly anticipating more from author Sotia Lazu and the narrator Wendy Tremont King.
Wendy Tremont King does an excellent job with the different voices for the various characters and she's also extremely talented at infusing the proper emotion into a moment without overdoing it.

Fans of paranormal romance will absolutely enjoy this series. It's a must read.
"Name does not say it all!"
Yes, good plot, good sex scenes.
I was surprised by the ending and cannot wait for the next book!
Yes, I have listed to Wendy Tremont King's other performances and she is now one of my favorite narrators. I actually search her name to find what else she has narrated. The genre is different for her but I like her ability to diversify.
When Cherry was emotional so was I!
"Love this Series!"
I've never read the print version, but was thoroughly entertained by this audio book.
I really liked the storyline. The heroine was funny, smart and self reliant. She wasn't one those whiney characters who cried "why me", but rather someone who tried to solve her problems with a "what now" attitude.

I thought this first book in a series was a bit of a slow start. this book introduces us to Cherry stem a young vampire still learning her way around. trying her best to be on her own.
"Vampiric Romantic Suspense"
I'm already hooked on this series. It is fast moving with a well developed plot, some hunky male vampires, hot love scenes, romance, bad evil vamps and some twists, turns and surprises.
Besides being a good story it is also well written and performed.
Cherry was turned against the vampire rules by a rouge. the turning of Cherry led to an coup d'état of the vampire council not necessarily for the better.
Cherry's maker and an accomplice then attack Cherry and her human boyfriend. Something more seems to be at play than just a rouge turning Cherry for no good reason. Also there has been a rash of missing young models which Cherry's human boyfriend Alex a detective has been investigating. Is Cherry's maker responsible for the missing young woman? Cherry and Alex set out in tandem with the help of Cherry's ex-lover and vampire mentor Constantine to investigate.
Both Alex and Constantine are attractive alpha males who are in love with Cherry. So the fun begins...
If you like paranormal romance then you should like this series. If you like Romantic suspense then again you should like this series, If you like mystery.thrillers this series will also be for you.

"a vampire mystery"
I was attracted to this book not because it is about vampires (I never got into vampire fiction), but because it sounded like a good mystery. I wasn’t disappointed, either. The mystery is very nicely constructed, and the characters, vampire and human, are well drawn and fairly believable. This book won’t lure me into reading more vampire fiction, but it was an enjoyable read.
The performance of the narrator was professional in all respects.

"a light hearted vampire romance"
Cherry Stem is the first book by Greek author Sotia Lazu in her Vampire Cherry series.
Cherry was turned into a vampire just before she could become famous in the adult film industry. Still in her mid-twenties, she's really just your average girl who needs to pay rent and get through the nights. Told in first person narrative from Cherry's point of view, following her inner monologues was priceless. "My mom always told me not to play with my food … She never told me not to let my food play with me." Cherry is a vampire with self-doubt, normal "human" issues and quirky humor, which I really appreciated. She is just adorable.
Detective Alex Marsden is a real alpha male with a lovely emotional side to him, "I sound like a chick". He was only meant to be Cherry's hook-up and meal for the night, but they end up investigating the strange disappearance of several young women. At the same time, they are trying to fight their growing feelings for each other. In need of some vampire help to aid their investigation, Cherry is forced to consult with her ex-boyfriend Constantine, who is an ancient vampire and still very much in love with Cherry.
This was my first ever (audio) book about vampires, and I truly loved it. In fact, I could not stop listening and finished it in one setting in a single day.
Cherry Stem is a light hearted vampire romance with some steamy sex scenes as well as good old-fashioned vampire fighting and conniving. The chemistry and attraction between Cherry and Alex were palpable.
The narration by Wendy Tremont King was exceptional. I actually checked out what other audio books she narrates, as I definitely want to hear more of her.
Her pacing and intonation were great. It really felt as if she was telling you her story there and then. She sounded completely natural and managed to express the emotions perfectly. All the voices were clear and distinct. She truly made all the characters come to life. I have rarely listened to a female narrator who pulls off sexy male voices quite this convincingly. There were no issues with the production quality.
Huge recommendation for anybody interested in paranormal romance / vampire fantasy.
