November 1291. Meg and Llywelyn gather their family at Rhuddlan Castle to celebrate their seventh anniversary and David's 23rd birthday. But the joyful reunion goes grievously awry when an old enemy raises the banner of rebellion, followed immediately by an even more catastrophic betrayal by an old friend.
Meanwhile, facing war at every turn and still haunted by his decision to leave Cassie and Callum in the modern world, David chooses a dangerous path forward, one that will either change the course of the future forever or burn his world to ashes.
Ashes of Time is book seven in the After Cilmeri series.

Great story, love Sara Woodbury books but the found it hard to listen to narrator's pronunciation of welsh words as living on welsh boarder is not the way its spoken, all in all if you can get past that a very good book series :)
I know this a young adult book series , As a 50 something I just love it
*I received a copy of this audiobook from the author for the purpose of an honest review*
As with the whole series so far, I loved this audio book.
This book in the After Cilmeri series is Meg and Anna's story after they are swept away in the stream of time, separated from David and Llewellyn and their families in Wales. Along the way they are reunited with Callum and Casie, on the run from the "bad guys" while David & Dad have trouble from bad guys of their own.
Laurel Schroeder's narration is excellent. I adore her ability to get the character voices just right for each one, and to keep them consistent from volume to volume. I could -and do- listen to her read for hours. Haha. I think she is perfect for this series.
The story is one that lends itself to the audio experience, alternating points of view are used sharing the telling between characters and each book sets up the unique angle presented, leading into a widening and deepening storyline. These are not just episodes of the same theme over and over. Read or listen, print or audio, or both. I just love this series.
As always I loved this book. The characters have more depth as their stories continue. Laurel Schroeder does a wonderful job giving voice to Sarah's stories.
"Love the ENTIRE series"
Catching up with characters & learning tidbits about each of the ones we have been following.
This one made me think... I really had to stop & think... :-)
Adore the voice & reads slower than I do but when I need to read a page again not as easy though not her fault... LOL
I love this series. I have read all of the books and have all of the audibles of the series. Thank you Sarah Woodbury and Laural Schroder.
"An interesting series"
It continues to bring in unexpected plot diversions that keeps the reader's interest high with changes in location and year generated by time travel.
"Amazing book. Really enjoyed this story."
Narrator is best, love Laurel's voice and dialects. Anxious to start book 8 and find out how this all turns out.
"No Place Like Home!"
This is the one installment of the series that I preferred the print version, likely because the modern day story is the more dominant story and it's easier to keep track of its timeline because it takes place in modern times and the places and things are largely familiar.
Although we don't spend much time with him, I have a warm spot for Cassie's grandfather, Art. He just seems so cool with everything, like the modern day counterpart to Llywelyn.
The very first one...with the extended family all together before the events of the story unfold. While that may seem odd given all the excitement in not just this book but the series as a whole, this is the only time they are all in the same place at the same time and interacting as any normal family celebrating family milestones.
"I prayed my whole life that such a fate would be mine." 'Nuff said.
"Best Time Travel Series"
The story line and characters are so compelling! I read any historical time travel I can get my hands on. Don't care for sci Fi tho. the family and friends in the novels are many layered personalities. The story just keeps getting better with each book. I am sad when I finish one, knowing I must wit several months for the next.
