Publisher's Summary

The stunning conclusion to the trilogy that began with the Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning Ancillary Justice.

For just a moment, things seem to be under control for the soldier known as Breq. Then a search of Atheok Station's slums turns up someone who shouldn't exist - someone who might be an ancillary from a ship that's been hiding beyond the empire's reach for three thousand years.

In the meantime, a messenger from the alien and mysterious Presger empire arrives, as does Breq's enemy, the divided and quite possibly insane Anaander Mianaai - ruler of an empire that's at war with itself.

Anaander is heavily armed and extremely unhappy with Breq. She could take her ship and crew and flee, but that would leave everyone at Athoek in terrible danger. Breq has a desperate plan. The odds aren't good, but that's never stopped her before.

    "Please don't stop there"

I loved this third book in the series, and hope Ann Leckie does not stop there. I am wishing for inspiration to strike and more books in the series. Also Adjoa Andoh's reading of the series has been stellar. I have loved her intimacy and character voices. Many thanks to you both.

    "5* Science Fiction"

This is standout SF read by a standout narrator -- a pure pleasure throughout the trilogy.

    "brilliant in every way"

with all three books and especially this last one, i really tried hard to ration myself. The more I read, the less I had to look forward to.
Characters and plot were excellent and the reader was superb. Friends who regard audio books with a certain distaste will never know the force and depth that a reader like Adjoa Andoh brings to the text.

All in all a month or so of absolute pleasure.

    "Very good indeed"

I have read SciFi voraciously for 35 years and the best stays with you for a long time (for example the poignance of The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey). The Ancillary trilogy (interestingly also including a ship who sings) is one such piece of work - superbly written and brilliantly brought to life by Adjoa Andho. A really great set of books that leaves you fervently hoping there will be more.

"First book was great, second- OK, third- cozy"

The first book of the series introduced a number of novel and powerful concepts, such as ancillaries, multi-body AIs, multi-body 'humans', disregard for physical gender. The highly unusual main character and how her nature was revealed gradually made for a great read. I would certainly rate it at 5 stars if I had Ancillary Justice on the Audible.
The following two books of the series make for a cozy read where domestic routines take centre stage and it is hard to take any plot developments seriously. Glimpses of the Radj Space culture provided in the first book are not developed any further, so we are stuck with the endless references to tea drinking. The third book introduces a number of new curious characters and resolves in a more or less satisfying way, making it second best to the first.

    "Some endings are beginnings"

I will call this trilogy a bit overrated and slow pasted. But it is British people in space, what can I expect :P. It is worth it however.

"A good round off to a Trilogy"

An interesting and thoughtful round off to a trilogy that leaves a fully formed, but not fully known, universe to explore.

    "Narration is fantastic!"

I listen to quite a lot of audiobooks and in my opinion it's the most imaginatively narrated book I've ever heard. Absolutely fantastic! Truly immersive

"Great end to a great trilogy - thoroughly enjoyed"

Loved this book - great story, innovative ideas with some great characters. It's not action all the way but it has it's fair share and the way the humour of Bret became more potent/contextual as you went through the books was great. The effect is subtle but noticeable. Very sorry the trilogy is over.

I would love to hear more about the Preska, and I especially loved the Preska translator characters - they were both awesome.

The narration by Adjoa Andoh is, as ever, sublime. She really helps make the characters come alive.

Just great :) Listen to all 3 right now! As you might have gathered by now I am finding it hard to say something critical - so you know what, I won't.

"Continues as great as in previous part"

If you liked the previous 2 books, you will certainly have no doubts if to listen to this one as well. It's as good as they come.

At last I stopped to care who has which gender. SHE got me used to it with HER insistence. lol

And I do love the Fleet Captain - like everyone else - I can't help myself. :)

I can't say though that I liked the very end that much, was a bit weird for me... (I'm too much of a ..., I guess - you'll understand "who" when you listen to it), but it worked.

Nevertheless if there would be a continuum to this, Audible would do good to let us know! And I think I would be willing to give a chance to any other book from this author!

    The performer was simply amazing!
