From the beginning, Emma was always looking for modern ways to become self-sufficient. Following the signs of a faltering economy and a nagging in her spirit to return to her family farm, Emma begins rebuilding a life independent from the grid and away from her high-stress corporate job.
Is it any wonder that when a localized electromagnetic pulse is detonated over the New Madrid fault line and the grid is taken down that Emma immediately goes into action? Well, at least until Senator Varga and her personal army show up at Emma's door. That is one curveball that Emma was not expecting.
Calling her fellow prepper chicks into action, follow along as a modern-day underground railroad is formed, a long-forgotten way of life is pulled back into action, and they all adjust to a world without rule of law.

"Story great, narrator is horrible and needs to be replaced"
The narrator ruined the book. She couldn't even read a smooth sentence. She stumbled over ordinary words and mispronounced many words, ruining the story flow. If the story hadn't been so good, I would have given up on this one. Let's hope they do not use her again on future books. Someone like Davina Porter would have been perfect.
I am hooked. Can't wait for the next one! I am a fan. So informative too.
"Too much. All over the place"
The prepper tips should be in a prologue. Too much rape and molestation. Monologue about being prepared seemed out of place and too long. Glad to read a prepper novel by a woman.
"Interesting story, but new editor(s) and narrator needed."
The book was educational and thought provoking. The author has and refreshing point of view that we should help each other after a horrible event -compared to the male writers in the same genre. However, between the narrator, the redundancy of words and descriptions, and the quantity of characters, I had to force myself to keep listening. For the author... If you explain something once with one character don't do it again with another. Consider being less wordy, not using the same word two or three times in a sentence. I am not sure I would spend more money to continue listening to the series.
"Not a book for the family to listen to."
great story line.. excessive use of the f-bomb. Worst part is the explicit depictions of rape almost to the point is seams the author enjoys describing it. not as full of technicals like a JW Rawles book, but still plenty of tips. all in all it was worth the listen to hear things from an obviously educated women's point of view.
"Loved this book!"
This story grabs you and grips you from the beginning and keeps you hanging on until the last word! Can't wait for the next one in this series.
"Better than I thought it would be"
Exciting, Thought Provoking, Entertaining
World War Z: When the SHTF, it happened fast and hard
While her voice acting when it came to male voices was pretty...interesting...the narrator brought a surprising amount of depth to the female voices and to the overall story. I was never bored.
Its a great road trip book.
