He demonstrates the dynamics of stress and how dangerous it can be. Priests, religious, and laity today take on impossible jobs, suffer from insomnia, and weight gain. Morton reveals to the listeners ways to accept our destiny, embrace our humanity, and be true to ourselves. He affirms the importance of vacations and taking time for healthy hobbies so that we get enough exercise. If we do not care for our bodies, we will find ourselves unable to finish projects and increase our frustration through endless procrastination. Our emotions also need to be developed in healthy relationships. He explains the need for setting boundaries, rules, and norms of conduct to create an environment that is safe and supportive where hope, faith, and love can grow. He helps the listener to set priorities and realistic goals in life.
