Confusing

As others have already pointed out, you are unable to find a specific book as there is no index. Which makes this version completely useless for study purposes.
I contacted customer services and they were not really interested. All people they said was that I should contact the publisher, not really much help.
Sad as I was looking forward to using this audio book for study and it might as well be in a foreign language, because without an index it's useless for the purpose it was bought.
One really unsatisfied customer.

Superb paced reading.

Would you listen to The Complete King James Version Audio Bible again? Why?

This is the third version of the KJV I now have, the Scourby was the standard reading, this has replaced it because the pace is perfect, the emphasis is, to my taste, just right finding the balance between drama and detail which is so much a matter of timing. It would be unjust not to acknowledge the Pure Voice recording as an excellent version for those who find a single narrator wearing. I don't and so find this ticks every box. Superb.

Flawless

I’ve had the Scourby reading for many years, and since the KJV has been my principal English version, it’s been on heavy-duty rotation. When I purchased the Lutheran Study Bible by Concordia Publishing House, which uses the ESV, I was out shopping for another audiobook to compliment it. I listened to the Max McLean version available here on Audible, encouraged by the high 4.7 rating. Not even getting to the end of Genesis, I found that his reading felt rushed, and to top it off, I don’t think the audio quality of the recording itself was up to snuff. Once I had started thinking about this while listening, I knew it our relationship was beyond repair. One isn’t supposed to pay attention to stuff like this after pressing ”play”.

So I was back looking for an audiobook of the Bible, and the high rating of this version caught my attention, and after sampling it, I was sold. So was the audiobook. And reading through the reviews here I can only join to rather harmonious choir singing the production’s praises. The recording itself is of high quality, and Glyn’s reading is, well, perfect. Considering that one has to listen to a voice for over 80 hours if listening from start to finish, Glyn is so pleasurable that I’d switch that verb from ”has to” to ”gets to”. (Do it mid-sentence, I dare you, and it’ll make for some James Joyce-worthy brainwork.) His voice and diction are clear and pleasing to the ear, and his sense of pace as well as rhythm is second to none, whatever the category of audiobooks. There’s no pomp and circumstance these productions often have that makes my toes curl.

Not only this, he succeeds in bringing out different voices without overdoing it. There’s deep emotion in the Bible, vociferous and unrelenting, and Glyn’s reading captures it. I think this will become my go-to audio Bible, if it isn’t already — it’s that good.

Audio king James bible.

Beautiful to llston.. Also comforting.. Draw you closer to God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit... The three in one... God bless those who worked effortlessly to bring the feature into bien... Not forgetting the publisher and the narrator who reads it so harmonically..

Many thanks in Jesus name!!! x

Hope this helps you decide if it’s right for you:

Audio versions of The Bible come in many different styles and I did lots of research before buying this one. I recommend listening to excerpts from different publishers first if you can.

Christopher Glyn reads The Bible very well - calm and dignified, not over dramatic. No special effects or other actor’s voices to intrude. Strangely though when you get to The New Testament, there is suddenly cloying background music - piano and strings at the start and end of each book. Some even have the music throughout, which seems bizarre and may be technical error. The music is so loud and intrusive sometimes it’s hard to hear the text. Just when I thought I might have to abandon it though, the music ceases and the rest of the books are, as the Old Testament is, free of music. Perhaps the audio book was cut together from different versions and something went wrong in editing.

Three other things to be aware of when choosing:

1) Although the 80 hours are split into roughly 30 minute chapters, Bible books, verses etc aren’t used in headings, so it can be tricky to find where you are in the text. Keep a note of where you’re up to.
2) The reader has a neutral American accent, but pronounces some names and place names in, shall I say, an idiosyncratic way.
3) For some reason Christopher Glyn occasionally breaks out of his measured reading voice to dramatise certain lines, such as a particular prophecy or declaration. You might, as I did, find this a bit bizarre and jolting, but thankfully It only happens very rarely. I wanted a reading, not a dramatisation.

All told it’s excellent, an absolute bargain for the £50 or so that it typically retails for.

Excellent

Excellently read edition of the KJV: The narrator is patient, involved, passionate, clear, & without any pronunciation faults. A brilliant book. My only criticism is that the chapters of the audiobook are not labelled, so searching for a particular passage is difficult--but, then, audiobooks are not designed for this, so five stars nonetheless.
