According to Pastor Mark Batterson in this unabridged audio download, The Circle Maker, "Drawing prayer circles around our dreams isn't just a mechanism whereby we accomplish great things for God. It's a mechanism whereby God accomplishes great things in us."
Do you ever sense that there's far more to prayer, and to God's vision for your life, than what you're experiencing? It's time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker - a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayers for his people.
What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around? Sharing inspiring stories from his own experiences as a circle maker, Mark Batterson will help you uncover your heart's deepest desires and God-given dreams and unleash them through the kind of audacious prayer that God delights to answer.

What an amazing book - Mark Batterson gives an impassioned performance of his works and it suits audio format perfectly.
I've always struggled with creating a rhythm of prayer but this has totally reinvigorated my prayer life and changed my perspective on my life goals and dreams.
A must listen for any Christian young or old in their faith.
"This has changed my prayer life."
The author is very expressive and encouraging in detailing how to pray and how to have a better relationship with the Lord. Praying takes time and when we pray, the Lord blesses us with fellowship and answers our prayers. Maybe not always like we want them, but we have hope for even more than we could think to ask for.
I love Marks description of how much God loves us and wants to bless us more than what we could even ask for. The best line in the book that will stay with me forever is "work like it depends on me and pray like it depends on God". I can and will work hard, but ultimately, it all depends on God working out every detail for His glory.
No, this is the first book of his I have read. I have gifted this book to three other people since I've listened to it twice myself. Each has been totally blessed.
It made my heart have hope, hope for more from God. Hope that He wants to give me His blessings for my life.
"Very Challenging and Faith Building"
YesThis book will challenge you to pray with faith, pray big, and pray with perseverance! The focus is on God who loves you and is for you, and will give you answers to prayer greater than you pray for.
The story of getting the theater in Barracks Row
It will be hard to put it down once you start
"Outstanding in every respect!"
Great stories, excellent narration and thought provoking ideas and suggestions.
Multiple stories were of great interest and worth sharing with others.
First time listening to anything by Mark. Very good!
Yes. At no point in the recording did either the story or narrator lose my full interest.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject of prayer, faith or one's purpose in life. Very inspiring work.
"Good but could be shorter."
I liked the message of the book the most. I liked the lengthy and repetitive nature of the book the least. The entire point could have been made in a much shorter version of the book. It also leaves one feeling that "all you have to do is pray like this, and see....your prayers will all be answered like ours were." I believe the author is sincere, not arrogant. Just leaves those of us with unanswered prayers wondering what we did wrong.
"Cuts it close on theology but just stays on right side"
The narration came across as much more a self-help / motivation type audiobook than what I typically read in a book about prayer.
Pastor Mark toes the line (I'm sure a matter of opinion) without crossing it (again, I'm sure another matter of opinion) with respect to sound theology. Time and again, I got the feeling that I was listening to a Prosperity Gospel preacher -- but not quite, as Mark is careful (at times) to disclaim that, not by name, but by emphasizing that your desires ultimately must be aligned with God's will or it's a no-go.
Some of the criticism I read pointed out Mark's extra-Biblical main character, heavy reliance on his own story (which got to be, frankly, annoying to me fairly quickly), and cheapening by overuse and misapplication the concept of what a "miracle" is or may be.
I won't "return" the audio book, and I think I am better off for having listened to it -- though not only for the reason the author would hope... so I won't warn people to stay away. But I also won't recommend it at this time.
Easy to follow and great content. The author discribes in easy to unstand language how to pray circles around something that needs to be answered. Definitely worth it!
"A MUST READ!"
Wow! Can't say enough great things about this book! I have been so challenged to step up my prayer life and pray with expectancy and praise! I just finished it and I've recommend this book to lots of people already! I will definitely listen to it multiple times and take note the next time through 😀
What an amazing book! So timely. It caused me to have an excitement once again about the possibility of a life well lived instead of survived. An inspiring read!
Best ever, will listen to it again and again! this book changed my thinking!
"Restored my faith"
This book really helped me to see how weak my faith can be and how much more I need to pray about everything unceasingly. Funny (actually sad) how I can take things into my own hands and then be disappointed when things don't go so well. This book covers many stories of praying, isn't about prosperity preaching and definitely hits the nail on the head when it comes to inspiring a better prayer life.
HE's a great narrator and doesn't build false hopes that every prayer will be answered. He keeps it real and to the point.
