"I'm so disorganized!" "I can't get my act together!" "My inner life is a mess!"
How many times have you heard (or even said) those words? Our culture produces so many books to help us organize our work, our schedules, our studies, our careers, that we may be tempted to think it is possible to order our inner world by establishing control in the outer world of activity.
Gordon MacDonald believes otherwise. In a "memo to the disorganized", he says, "If my private world is in order, it will be because I am convinced that the inner world of the spiritual must govern the outer world of activity." He breaks down this private world into five sectors: motivation, use of time, wisdom and knowledge, spiritual strength, and restoration, and offers both inspiration and practical steps toward order. These are gleaned from years of Bible study and reading about the lives and writings of Christians throughout the history of the church, and tested in his own experience. Here is a very personal treatment of a very personal problem: how to order your private world.

Make sure you understand the basis for this book. It's not about getting your stuff organized. It's about restoring order to YOU from a spiritual perspective. Good stuff and helps you focus on what is truly important: God, faith, family, others, and how to align what you do with your core values. Very enjoyable and insightful.
"Where is the updated audible version?"
The book has been "updated for the 21st century" and the audible version needs to include these updates. This version is too outdated and missing some great content.
"Read and re-read"
One of the books I return to every year. Addresses five quadrants of the private world and gives us the courage, encouragement and resources we need to explore and cultivate our lives for wholeness.
"Abridged version sadly.Focuses on your inner world"
Abridged version sadly. I didn't realize it until the end. The content & reading is great. Living and leading from a strong center, they call it cultivating your garden. Very powerful.
"Great book highly recommend "
Great book, highly recommend for anyone looking for a book to read. Gives some spiritual discipline strategies and overall very helpful
"Read the book!"
One of the principles highlighted in the book centered around time management including time to read. Better emphasis will be placed on the content with the physical book in hand. This Audible book did well to set the stage and leave you wondering what more can I glean from reading the text. The narrator hear needed more energy .
A timeless message in a time conscious world. God's ways are never outdated and always on time!
"Very Abridged! Contains less than 50% of the book"
It is an excellent book, but the abridged audio missed too much content from the original author's work.
This audiobook was disappointing. This recording of the audiobook contains only 5 chapters (my 2007 edition of the paperback book has 14 chapters). It has me wondering how much of the core content I missed. I can't recommend this purchase.
It gives a wonderful example of living God's way for us. Filled with discerning love.
"A MUST READ!"
This is a must read for anyone desiring to overcome overwhelm in their life. it goes beyond time management and teaches life management. Absolutely transforming!
