Summary

The first three of the prophetic books of the Bible, from Isaiah to Lamentations, using the New International Version 2011 translation, read by Poirot actor David Suchet.

The 16 Old Testament prophets preached God's Word, including both promises and judgment warnings to Israel and Judah, between about 760 BC and 460 BC - a period of great change for God's people. The prophets spoke into the situation - explaining persuasively why the people were living such hard lives in foreign exile, but they also prophesied how God would eventually undo it and redeem his wayward people by grace via a new covenant.

Acclaimed British actor David Suchet brings his deep, melodic and un-rushed voice to this beautiful and profound section of the Bible.

Stunning Scripture, clearly & brilliantly read

Isaiah is a spectacular book from the Jewish Old Testament. and this audio edition briings it and the other books to life - Isaiah contains so much! - many prophesies about Israel, the Messiah (1st and 2nd coming), The End Times that the world seems to be hurtling towards now. It also spells out how YHWH (God) will judge those who sneer and reject His mercy, those who refuse to know Him. Isaiah also speaks of the Glory of God and the times after Jesus 2nd coming (7 years after the Great Tribulation) when He will remove the filth, make all things new and physically be on the new earth, in His full glory and forever.

It can really help to read (listen to) these audio bible readings along with a good commentary to refer to, so that you can get the most out of it, understand obscure references and grasp where it's teachings are repeated and/or fulfilled elsewhere in the Bible or in current events.

David Suchet speaks in beautiful English English which is refreshing and, because he is a believer he reads it all with much understanding and insight, which is so helpful for any listener.

Myriad blessings
