Yes...other versions I've listened to, the reader is too angry or to prideful to the point of being distracting. Steven B Stevens reads without the fake melodrama that totally destroys the true message of the Bible...it's a realistic reading. There is a version out there that dramatizes the Bible to the extent that it is nothing more than a melodramatic joke and that sounds like poor actors in school.
"Navigation isn't bad like one other reviewer says"
You can go chapter by chapter using the audible app for any phone and on any labtop. I was hesitant at first because I didn't know if you could but after buying this I noticed that you could and it is great!
"Great voice, terrible formatting"
No. While I LOVE the actual voice, the format is monolithic and unable to be broken down into digestable chunks of audio. If you want to only listen to one specific chapter, good luck finding it in over 2 hrs of audio. They should take the time to break this audio treasure down into manageable chapters, or at least provide it in MP3 format so that you can cut it up yourself (as an 'audible file' you can't use Garageband or other standard editing tools to slice and dice).
"Good narration - One specific update would be nice."
I recommend this book and would buy it again. Style, pace and voice of person reading is very nice. It would be good if they updated the titles of the 15 sections to show the starting book in the Bible that the section includes. It would make it easier for the listener to go directly to a specific Bible book to start listening, then I would give it 5 stars.
"great listening experience!"
NASB Complete Audio Bible would certaintly be my daily companion. It's refreshing to listen to and entertaining in every aspect of the mind and soul!
"Company taking this off the market! Major problems!"
There are serious download and other issues with this Bible, and when it says it has finished downloaing the fifteen "parts", you learn it downloaded one part only and it locks your device and plays it continually until you delete the whole thing. Each " part" consists of several books of the Bible, but it there is no list of where a particular book of the Bible is. In other words, if you are in Isaiah, and you want to go listen to the gospel of John, good luck finding it! You have to search in all the "parts". Is it in " Part 10," "Part11,"?... and you have to go through all the " part" chapters -equivalent of turning every real Bible page in order to go from one book to the next. No titles whatsoever. No book titles at all. I asked, "If I am listening to Exodus, and I want to go to Galatians, how do I know where to click--what " part" to go to, and how to I know what chapter number within that part will I find Galatians?" and the technician said I couldn't do that. "There is no list of the Bible books." They said they are having a lot of problems with this, and they kindly offered me a refund. I accepted. Sad. It could have been really great!
1. Great reader!
2. Great Bible!
Listened to the New Testament first.
Some books are missing---Jude and Titus, John 1 & 2 --3. Hebrews is not in order! I haven't finished the Old Testament yet. The books missing are important to study too.
I'm going to listen with a bible open to check the Old Testament.
"Well Read, Clear and without distraction"
This is a well done reading of the NASB translation. Pronunciation is clear, the narrator does a good job at making the text clear to the listener.
"Great for driving"
It's just like the preview and the way I expected
Listening at speed 1.5 or x2 is still clear and a nice way to get an overview.
"Soothing well done."
I enjoyed the overall story. This is a great one for begins bible readers, very understandable. While at first the speaker is very easing, the fact his voice never changes gets a little old. But it's still the best I have.
