Publisher's Summary

Could you retain your faith even if it meant losing your life? Your family's lives?

To many Christians in the Middle East today, a "momentary, light affliction" means enduring only torture instead of martyrdom. The depth of oppression Jesus' followers suffer is unimaginable to most Western Christians. Yet it is an everyday reality for those who choose faith over survival in Syria, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, and other countries hostile to the Gospel of Christ.

In Killing Christians Tom Doyle takes listeners to the secret meetings, the torture rooms, the grim prisons, and even the executions that are the "calling" of countless Muslims turned Christians. All survivors long to share with brothers and sisters "on the outside" what Christ has taught them. Killing Christians is their message to listeners who still enjoy freedom to practice their faith. None would wish their pain and suffering on those who do not have to brave such misery, but the richness gained through their remarkable trials are delivered--often in their own words--through this audiobook. The stories are breathtaking, the lessons soul stirring and renewing. Killing Christians presents the dead-serious work of expanding and maintaining the faith.

"Superb book - eye opening to a different world!"

Loved it would be a wrong term to use with this book. It's my first audio book and I was totally hooked. This book isn't an easy read book. It tells you exactly what it's like in countries where being a Christian is very dangerous and life threatening (it doesn't pull any punches). But the witness and bravery of its true life characters humble the reader and you may find yourself thinking that every minute of your life should be lived to the full and that we should spend so much more of our time praying for those in the book and many others in the same position. Many thanks to the author and narrator for the special blessing of the knowledge given through this book.

    "Necessary for the heart"

Stunning, breathtaking stories that display the majesty & beauty of Christ against the darkest of backdrops. You will love, weep, & pray fervently for each beautiful person whose story you hear. Books such as these are vital for us western Christians… it is almost shameful how complacent & whiney we are, spoiled in our comforts, & often even self-centered in our very faith. These books serve to connect us heart and soul to our persecuted family & drive us to service & action. Every church in America should continually urge its members to make a steady reading diet of books and articles of the persecuted church.

    "Informative, encouraging & convicting"

I loved this book. It was well put-together and gives a real sense of the very real people living in that part of the world. Very informative. I thought it might feel sensationalized but it didn't feel that way at all to me when I read it. While some of the things in it were difficult to hear, keeping our head in the sand does not help anyone...us or those in the 'battleground' of the Middle East. The battleground might one day be here in the U.S. (it already is to a small extent) and we need to be firm on where we stand. This book is great for helping give you that moral courage. These Christians are facing unimaginable trials, pain & death everyday and they consider themselves blessed because they know they are doing the Lord's work! We can all learn from these dedicated followers of our Lord Jesus Christ! God Bless!

"most important for the American Christian to read"

Absolutely the very best thing to read and focus on right now as Christians, in the United States ,to focus on what is real in the world ( real persecutions )and the power of Jesus to save the soul that longs to know the truth.

"A book of hope. He is truly in control"

This book and others of like it have changed my views on love and what it means to follow Christ. After 911 I had some issues with muslims. after this I see many are good trapped in a prison of culture and islam. The hope is that the Lord is coming to them. They are the new Christians and in many cases dying for it.

    "Great read!"

Man did this book open my eyes to not only how blessed we are in this nation to be able to openly practice Christianity but how we Christians here also take that freedom for granted. The two questions at the end should be answered internally by everyone who claims to be Christ follower. I highly recommend reading this book. God bless and keep the Church (body of Christ) in constant prayer here and abroad.

    Story
"If you are a Christian, read / listen to this book"

Although I have lived in the Arab world, and know how the names are pronounced, the narrator can be forgiven for not knowing how to say all of them as well as I do. His voice is easy to listen to and the story just carries you through. I did not want to stop.

If you are a Christian, you need to hear these stories to know what is really going on. And then ask yourself, are you really a believer? Paul says we are to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. These Believers may put you and me to shame, especially if you have fallen for the easy believism, and the Prosperity Gospel. Is that what Jesus died for? Ask yourself.
