"Just the word"
I listened to a number of samples before settling on this audio bible. With the amount of options available it was hard to pick the right one. I picked this one because it had no background music which I found distracting. Also, it's not a dramatization, while it has a number of different narrators each one reads a different gospel. Which is a really nice touch; I didn't want the bible to sound like a radio play.
It's fairly easy to find the the chapters you are looking for if you download the PDF. If you are useing the audible app on your phone carry the PFD with you to. I've read other reviews that complain about this. There's no problem if you are prepared for it.
As to the story, I'm gonna have to say its the best one I've ever heard!
Absolutely would listen again and again. For anyone who wants to stay in the word, but for whatever reason does not read their BIBLE, audio version is the perfect way to stay in the word but still do your daily chores and duties.
the KJV BIBLE is the only book that is comparable.
the whole book
"Needs to have books of the bibles labeled vs section 21 chapter 4 for example"
I wish the books of the bible were titled by the names and not only the numbers. I have to try to figure out where the books begin. So instead of being able to go to ACTS, you go to something like section 8 chapter 6. And you have to click on a lot before getting to it. doing bookmarks has been hard. The voice sounds good though.
"Faith comes by hearing"
Yes, I wanted to improve upon my memory of the scriptures in addition to my bible reading and this audio bible has helped with my studying.
Its different when you're listening versus reading. While listening my imagination begins to create what I'm reading and makes the scriptures all the more memorable. I still attend services 3 times a week but this audio has enhanced my desire to KNOW and LIVE God's word.
The narrator brings my imagination to life.
Considering the bible is so long and incredibly detailed it's impossible to read in one sitting, its the best book known the man.
I encourage people who aren't readers of the Word because of difficulty reading to buy an audio bible. Once you have heard, you'll naturally want to read it for yourself. Faith coming by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Thanks Audio Book.
The books are in order despite what some reviewers comments might led you to think. All the readers are good, and some are really good. Highly recommended!
No, I wouldn't listen to it again. Some of the narrators were excellent, but there were too many awful ones! Some sounded angry or sarcastic...very disappointed!
I would like to return this audiobook.
"The Bible is not in proper sequence"
We love the voice. It is clear and precise. The books are not in order and we can not find chapter and verse when we want too. There needs to be a listing of each book of the
Bible so we could find what we need to. There needs to some instructions on how to find what you need.
We love the Bible
He read it as is.
You can do both
"There is a Problem"
The narration is great, but here is the problem: the audio books are not titled. Therefore it is a problem finding a certain Book. I bought another KJV audio book and it had the same problem. Maybe they fixed this in later releases, for I have had it for a couple of years. So why did I wait so long to write a review? I got frustrated looking for a certain Book today. I'm spite of all that I said above ... I still enjoy and recommend it.
Yours in Christ,
"Mistakes and Voices"
It is frustrating when the Word of God has mistakes, and there were several that I found. They missed a word or it was changed, and I just wish they would have reviewed properly given what it is we are hearing. I also just didn't like a few of the voices used. The ability to listen to the Word is the draw, and some of the books were great. Genesis and Luke for example.
"Who is reading what?"
My biggest issue with this audio version of the KJV Bible is not with the actual narration itself; I enjoyed the multiple narrators, each of whom brought something unique and interesting to the table. I was mostly annoyed by the fact that I never knew who was reading what book in the Bible! As far as I can see, the PDF only tells you what books are being read in what parts (which IS helpful, by the way, although it doesn't include a reference to the exact chapter/minute each book can be found at). Unless I've missed something, we know the narrators' various identities, but we have to guess who is reading what. A minor issue overall, but still irritating.
